With a soft snort, she waved her hand. "Just because you have super stamina doesn't mean I do. I'm pretty restless right now, but I'll probably crash in an hour. It doesn't help that I kept eating while cooking, and cooking took a lot longer than I planned. So help yourself, I'll just..." One last piece of bacon was swiped, and she tried to look innocent while nibbling on it. "Okay, the rest is yours.

"What kind of hectic? Or is it the kind that you don't clue me in on until it gets blown way out of proportion?"

"I'm sure it's delicious."

He'd try it in a moment. For now, Clark tried to avoid looking completely fascinated by her just being there, but he was still trying to shake down the idea that this was a dream, or just a loss... but a loss of what? It couldn't be reality; reality was not this good.

He smiled at her, one hand drifting out to rest on the small of her back. She was real.

"No, no, nothing like that," he said, quickly. "I've just been thinking a lot lately. Off in my own little world."

"Oh, well I can't really lecture you for that," she teased as she leaned back into his hand before shifting so that she could rest in the crook of his arm while finishing her bacon, her legs crossed and lying partially off the mattress so that she didn't knock over the tray of food between them.

"Have you spoken to Claire at all today? She was acting strange around me in the kitchen."

Zero complaints from Clark, there. He wrapped his arm around her, gladly, leaning his cheek against the top of her head. Lana. He didn't care that she smelled like bacon and cooking oil, it was Lana.

"No," he said. That was a lie; they had dinner. But he wasn't about to tell Lana she was the one acting strange. "Is she alright? Maybe it's just because of Wally."

That just brought out an openly irritated sigh as she snagged a napkin off the tray to wipe her hands with.

"Because of how much older he is? I suppose he hasn't actually done anything wrong..." This time went unsaid, but she was sure they were both thinking it.

"But it's incredibly frustrating. She never seems to pick the right guy. Kyle seems nice too, but that obviously didn't work out. And I have no clue how to help her. I honestly thought she was handling it pretty well, but maybe I should try talking to her about it."
