Shawn generally, at his best, really didn't get higher than fifteen years-old.

He believed that it wasn't really a personal choice on his part, it was just how he was. After all, Gus was more than capable of being responsible. Shawn wanted him to feel useful, and therefore he took on the job of being the irresponsible one who always needed money. It was a system. A system that worked rather well in Shawn's opinion, and when Shawn had an opinion, he knew it was only a matter of time before he got Gus to come around.

But Gus wasn't here at the moment, and Shawn was taking fully advantage of the fact that his maturity didn't get higher than fifteen by gathering as many of the leaves together as he could. This involved doing actual work -- a rake in one hand as he continued to work, but the end result was well worth the effort. Shawn big giant piles of leaves? Not only excellent for jumping into, but also for hiding from view.

He's also singing as he goes, using the end of the rake for a microphone and after a while, adding in ( ... )

He looked down at what he was doing, before shaking his head with a bright grin.

"Nope. I'm doing this for fun."

Tifa lifted her brow at that one. "Fun, really? You have an interesting taste in fun." Last time she remembered raking leaves her Dad has forced her to do it as a chore. Chores weren't generally fun.

Shawn held up a finger as if to say watch and see, before moving a few feet away from the pile and taking the rake with him. He dropped the tool down next to him, before charging forward and canon-balling right into the pile of leaves.

And Tifa just watched. Generally not too impressed. In fact she felt a bit embarrassed for the guy and had her eyes dart around to make sure that there was nobody else that saw that. "Ah. Wow."

Shawn sprawled out on his back in the pile of leaves, before tilting his head to the side to look at her. He could hear her distinct lack of enthusiasm and decided that this was something that needed to be fixed.

"Oh, come on. Embrace your inner child."

Her inner child? She wasn't sure there was much to find in there. She just gave her head a slight shake. "Ah, I think I'll pass."

Shawn sighed heavily, as he pushed himself up, and went to get the rake to reform his pile.

"Suit yourself. But you never know until you try."

"I think I'm a little too grown up," she pointed out.

"That is totally not the right excuse," Shawn said, giving her a pointed look as he stood up, and brushed himself off. "Trust me, I'm somewhat of an expert in these things."

"It's not an excuse," she replied. "It's a reason."

"It's an excuse," Shawn said, giving her a look. "In there, somewhere deep inside, is a little Tifa. A small little girl who's looking up at you and going 'Jump, Tifa! Jump in the leaves! You know you want to jump in the leaves!'"

And that bit was complete with his best little girl voice.

Tifa rolled her eyes at that. "Sorry. No little voice." Tifa certainly wasn't the tell him that she spent part of that childhood dealing with her mother's death, falling off of bridges, being stuck in a coma, then watching her home and loved one be burnt down to the ground.

Shawn sighed heavily before shrugging. "Well, suit yourself. It's your loss."

She wasn't considering it much of a loss. "I guess it is," she replied.

Shawn could see that. All these serious people, never going to have fun in a place like this.

"So ... what do you like to do for fun?"
