Urahara was frustrated. This wasn't normally like him, becoming so closed off to everyone. The irrational anger and the snapping at anyone who crossed his path wasn't behavior he wanted to become a commonplace. Nothing he could really do about it now though ( ... )

Upon seeing the look on his face, Yoruichi felt a tad better. To show this, she let a smirk slide across her features and leaned against the doorframe. "You're getting old, Kisuke; my reiatsu should have tipped you off first thing."

While the look she witnessed had made her feel slightly more at ease, she would have given almost anything to replace it with one of recognition. The unspoken communication between them that had always come so naturally was there, but it had been greatly reduced due to his lack of memories.

For a moment, the confidence in her eyes was replaced with a look of sorrow that was quickly done away with. She wouldn't let her true feelings show, not yet. He was as lost as she was, and she refused her to burden him further.

Grinning a bit more, she spoke again, her voice flowing smoothly, not betraying her thoughts. "Now are you going to stand there like an awkward high schooler oggling his new homeroom teacher, or are you going to invite me in?"

"I wouldn't say it's getting old. It's more of," he paused for a second. "More of adjusting to my new surroundings. Or simply not paying enough attention." Any age jokes about her would be left unsaid and offered at a slightly more opportune time, Urahara decided.

Catching the almost instant shift in appearance, Urahara only smiled sadly and took a step back into his room. He, too, would have given anything to have the memories, not that he knew what they were. It was obvious to the both of them that they were important, whether they were good or bad. There had to be some way to get them back, even if he were forced to lose something else.

Instinctively, his hand touched the brim of his hat as he made his way back to his spot on the edge of the bed. Looking back up at her, he took off the hat, setting it next to him. "You're more than welcome to come in, even with me staring." He chuckled a bit, "Did you expect me to do anything but? I wasn't expecting..." You to look like you. His voice trailed off as he laughed again. He wasn't ( ... )

"Here is the best place to be paying attention. Just last week we had a serial killer on the loose, hunting down people for a ritualistic sacrifice. This place rarely ever gets dull," she said as she made her way across the room to the armchair in the corner. Taking a seat, she let herself relax back into its cushiony goodness.

If she had known what he was thinking, she would have made sure he never learned about the only way for his price to possibly change. Yoruichi would rather have him forget about her entirely than to go through anything related to that. Not after having Tatsuki and Orihime subjected to it.

She arched a brow, feigning a look of curiosity. "You weren't expecting what? Really, Kisuke, contrary to popular belief, I'm not a mind reader."

"I thought it would be for the both of us." There was a lot left unsaid after he finished that statement. He didn't even know what he meant by that. It was strange having these feelings for a person that you didn't even remember being a person. It scared Urahara a bit, but he could only just think that the memories he couldn't remember had to be good ones.

Urahara nodded. What could he say to that? She sounded so sure, even though he could only assume that she wasn't. "Partially remembering you isn't good enough for me. It worries me what else I could lose, but I'm not afraid of taking the chance." He sobered a bit before he spoke again, "Honestly, I'm not sure of the best way going about this. There's a lot we need to do. We would also have to speak with Inoue-san."

She didn't let anything about her express the feelings she had after hearing that statement. If she had, she felt she wouldn't have been able to regain her composure. She simply looked at him for a bit then gave a very small nod.

"Alright, then," was all she said before standing. "Leave Inoue to me; this is something I think she could understand better coming from another woman," she said as she gazed out the window. "Let me know when you have... the rest worked out."

Reaching down, she plucked the hat from his grasp and gently placed it on his head. Leaving her hand there for a moment longer, she said, almost inaudibly, "Thank you, Kisuke," before walking out.

"Understandable. I'll let you know once," he paused, unsure of how to phrase what he said next. "I figure out the details." Sure, this was going to be great. Maybe could filter a post to all the crazies in Paradisa requesting someone to kill him with no strings attached. He'd have to wait and see.

Urahara nodded silently to her thank you and watched her leave. He continued to sit on the floor and pressed the hat closer to his head, just thinking. He'd be sitting there for a while.
