Who: Speed and Ruby What: Hanging out in the yesIknowitsdesertedthatsthepoint! town; motorcycle racing... sorta. When: Like, now. (or yesterday afternoon, either works) Where: The town Rating: PG-13, just in case of foul language
Ruby had been busy all morning with tormenting greeting new arrivals to the castle. She was so amused with herself and their reactions that she really didn't notice the clean smell of Speed mingling closely with the smell of gasoline at first
( ... )
Speed was going to KILL that damn dragon when he got the next chance! Thankfully the CSI was a fairly good driver, and when he was startled into an un-wanted wobble, he quickly and efficiently took control of the handle bars and counter-steered into a shaky fish tail before righting himself into something more proper.
He waved off her waiting hands.
Not only was he startled into making a bad move, but more aggravating was the new and increased wind buffeting he was getting from her presence. It was not enjoyable, much less very welcome.
When the man got tried of it, he quickly hit his brakes. He went into a slight skid, but it was controlled easily enough. He stopped in a matter of seconds and watched her fly by. He waited.
Ruby nearly grabbed Speed and the bike as he began wobbling but respected his wishes as he waved her off.
Ruby chuckled as she watched him skid to a stop and shot past him. She arced up in a graceful turn back into the sky then took a wide loop to come back around. The buildings were just far too close together for her to a)land without some major destruction and b) with even the smallest amount of grace.
Despite this Ruby smoothed off her loop for a landing, folding her wings in front of herself forcefully to slow her descent. Her wings began to come dangerously close to the buildings before they shrank into themselves and she changed forms, floating gently down and landing before Speed with a little smirk.
"I wouldn't have let you crash," she said with a mischievous little smirk.
"I know that," he said and didn't elaborate any further. He could have told her he would have rather crashed than had her help, but he doubted she'd understand. He could have said it was just annoying, but he didn't want to hurt her feelings either.
He revved the engine twice and looked down at her in front of him on the pavement. "I was running a course." He finally said, after a moment of silence, a bit testily in his tone, too.
