Who: Ninth Doctor (fantasticninth), Rose Tyler (traveling_rose), and maybe Tenth Doctor (not_from_mars) if the mun feels like it What: Reunion! :D When: Uhhh, Thursday? Where: Rose's room (2604) Rating: Probably PG.
Rose still sat on the floor where she'd flopped onto in shock earlier. This was still way too much. He was alive and walking about ... well, currently running about ... while the Doctor she had been taken from by the castle was ALSO walking about?!
Impossible. Completely and utterly impossi-
It was a good thing she was already on the floor because the sharp rapping on her door startled her badly. Was this really going to be ... him?
She got up from the floor, went over and stood in front of the door. After taking a deep breath (and making sure she was presentable) she opened the door.
And nearly had a heart attack.
She gripped the door frame for support and just stared, unable to say anything at all.
At the look on her face, the Doctor found himself unable to say anything. Well, she -did- think you'd died, the little voice in his brain reminded him. Right. Getting hold of himself, he stopped standing there like an idiot and gathered her up into a huge hug.
"See? Look, I'm here. Solid and all that good stuff."
It was good seeing Rose again, a lot more than he likely would have admitted had anyone cared to ask. True, he'd only been away from her for a few days, but... Well, for one thing, no one in this castle had a clue about time travel or other planets or any of that (except for his future self, but they rarely got along). Yeah, that was the reason. He'd just keep telling himself that.
Alive ... my Doctor's ... alive!! She wrapped her arms around him, returning the hug with all she had.
She almost half expected something to happen. This had to be enough mucking about in timelines to warrant a severe backlash. But nothing happened, except the hugging.
"Alive ... it's ... you ... he had said ... I'd never see you again."
Memories of the regeneration, the shock, the loss all came back to the front of her mind. A few tears slipped down her cheeks, both for the memories and for the moment at hand. She had missed him more than even she'd probably care to admit.
He'd taken his time on the stairs, much unlike Nine who had more or less bolted. He had no idea how this was going to turn out, what she'd be like -- he remembered nothing of her, absolutely nothing, but he thought it right to go up to see her with Nine anyway.
When he reached the door, his other self and who he assumed to be Rose were embracing in the doorway. Slightly awkward, Ten knocked lightly on the open door. "Er, hello," he said quietly.
And she shouldn't have been able to see him again. That was the way things worked, after all. In fact, now that he thought about it, this reunion was almost cruel on her end. As soon as Ten found the way out, she'd just have to leave him again.
"Well, he didn't take into account the mischief some castles like to make..."
He would have continued, but voice of Ten from behind him almost made him jump. Sheepishly, he let go of Rose and turned around. "Hello."
