Ruby flitted up the stairs quietly, silently really since the rustle of her tiny pink feathers really didn't make much sound. She spread her wings upon reaching the flat surface of the hall and flew slowly down it, reading nameplates and committing them to memory. Just in case anyone ever needed an ass whipping she needed to know where they stayed so it had become a popular hobby to fly the halls and read name plates on doors. hehehe they would never know what hit em when she showed up at their doors and fried their faces. Teach them to be rude in the journals! HAH

Speed's first thought as he spotted the fluffy, flying, kitty was aww, how cute. His second thought was WTF? as he blinked his eyes first, then rubbed them a bit. Now he knew he wasn't in Miami anymore. Hell, he didn't think he was on Earth much less inside of Florida. >Is this a dream? he wondered.
Speed had no idea what to do--so he just stood there. He watched as it flitted closer to a nearby table, his eyes following it as he stood perfectly still. Blinking, the CSI had another thought. Hell, what if I am still on Earth and this is a new-found creature? Maybe I could capture it. He didn't know why he thought this, but at least it was better than standing there like a bump on a log.
Trying to move as slowly as possible and make little to no noise, Speed carefully lifted first one foot, set it down, and then the next. It was a crawling speed, but he managed to continue to creep his way all the way up to the table next to the creature. There, he suddenly pounced, arms outstretched to capture the little fuzzball.
Ruby reached out and touched the nicknack then bounced back suddenly in case it exploded...it did no such thing so she went back to examining it. She noticed the guy coming closer but she assumed he wanted to know what the thing was too. She didn't pay him much mind until POUNCE! WHAT?! His hands closed around her and she began to kick and squirm, making a sound of startled distress.
She kicked her legs and flailed her front paws then yelled, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, MAN!? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"
She grunted and tried escaping by pushing down on his hands with her paws then glared at him, "Don't make me burn you...."
Speed was so shocked when the creature actually talked that he simply reacted without thought--he let her go. His arms dropped down to his sides and his mouth hung open comically as he stared with wide eyes at the pink, fluffy animal. He stuttered. "I-It talks?"
But Speedle had never been the kind of guy to let his surprise, let alone other emotions, play on his face for very long. He took a step back and in that amount of time his face was suddenly back in its natural blank state. He stared at the small creature and tried to make more sense with his next words. "Wait, so... your sentient? Your capable of full thought and speech processes?"
Ruby thought for a moment then said, "Speed..." thoughtfully before nodding, "Still a little weird and it sounds like a kind of illegal substance but it's a lot better than Speedle."
She then without warning flew over and landed on his shoulder, balancing in a way that was clear that she did this a lot as she settled there, "I'm ruby." She said simply. She decided that riding with this Speed guy while he learned might be fun. Vexen had been so BORING as of late with all his research and stuff. She needed a little fun.
Speed actually let a light chuckle out as she made the comment about illegal substances. "Yea, I can't imagine why. I get that alo--" he was cut off as he watched her land on his shoulder. He blinked emotionlessly at her, the tiny creature now only a few inches away from his face as he looked at her.
"Err, yea, ok. Sure, you can sit on me," he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes slightly. He glanced at the door. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Ruby. I guess we should go in?" he asked, already reaching for the doorknob.
Ruby grinned and laughed her little tinkling laugh, "well of course I can, You're a three hundred times bigger than me."
She sat there grinning cheerfully, "Yup, I'll teach you all about the journal so that people don't comment on your entry calling you a stupid new person for being confused about it. They like to do that sometimes. Some of the people who live here are ridiculous."
Speed considered her words for a moment. Was he forgetting something? Missing anything? An important memory maybe? Or an ability? He couldn't think of anything, but that could just mean he had lost it already to this awful place. Unless it was his bike. He'd have to go searching, see if he could find it. If he couldn't, he'd be really peeved.
He glanced at her. "I'm sorry. It must be really awful to have gaps in your memory. Other than how I got here, I don't think I'm missing any memories. I mean, I don't have any obvious gaps anyway."
He looked away awkwardly. It really did have to be awful. Then again, she seemed cheerful enough without them. And how was she ever to know how awful it was to loss them if she couldn't even remember what they were about? He let it slide.
"Hey," he said, looking at her again. "I thought of something I could be missing, but it's not something you would find in your room. Is there a storage place or anything? I know I said I'd stop asking questions, but it's kinda hard." He looked a bit sheepish for a
Ruby shrugged by rolling her shoulderes, "Not really. I'm curious about what belongs there but it doesn't really affect my day to day life at all. I don't worry about it much."
She glanced at him when he said 'hey' to her, "Oh...well I'm not sure. It's possible it just wasn't brought with you and it will show up later. That happens a lot. You generally don't just come across whatever you're looking for, though. You have to wish that it will show up and one day you'll just run into it," she explained cheerfully. "And it's okay. If you stopped asking question's I'd probably get bored and go home," she said simply.
He nodded. "Oh, ok. Well, if that's the way it works... I guess I'll be seeing that sometime soon. I'm not sure I could cope without my motorcycle. It's a great stress reliever."
He gave a small smirk. "That so, huh? Aren't you glad I'm a source of entertainment and not a hungry hunter..." he said sarcatically.
Ruby looked at him oddly then without a bit of warning hopped off of his shoulder and flew to the nearest window which she used her paws to pry open. She glanced back at him, "C'mere I want to show you something, oh great hunter."
She hopped out the window and flew a sufficient distance from the castle before she changed forms. She glowed and warped then with a brilliant light and a snapping sound she had multiplied from less than a foot tall to somewhere around 35 feet tall. She raised her head to the sky and released a huge jet of fire that imploded then exploded outward upon itself. She watched the jet fade away then winged toward the castle and lined her eye up with the window, "You're right. I'm not sure what I'd have done if you were hungry, Hunter."
"I couldn't imagine why," he said sarcastically, dismounting slowly with her aid. "It's like riding a horse... only much larger and with more shoulder muscles."
He got to the ground and stood completely still for a moment, but making sure he didn't lock his knees. All he needed know was to cut off the circulation to his lower legs and fall flat on his face. When he thought his legs were steady enough and he wouldn't go completely all wobbly, he took a tentative step forward.
Success! Although he did tip this way and that a bit. He took a few more cautious steps and eventually stopped directly in front of the giant, pink, furred dragon. He looked up at her. "Well, that was fun." He hesitated, glancing away and then back. "Thanks."
Ruby grinned at him, "Like riding a horse that's big, in the air and breathtakingly beautiful, of course."
She snickered and once he was safely off of her her shape warped and with a little pop she was back in her little form. "I thought about showing you my human form too while I'm at it but I'm not sure how much you'd like to see me naked your first time meeting me." She snickered then landed on his shoulder again. "And you can have a ride whenever you want. It's fun to fly with someone else. My roommate would never do it, I don't think. He's got such a stick up his butt." She sighed.
Speedle laughed softly, uncertain really how to respond to the naked comment. Instead he skipped that section with a small shake of his head and continued on to the next. "Really? Well, I might have to take you up on that offer. I did enjoy the ride."
He glanced around at the new surroundings and then to her on his shoulder. "You have a roommate? That's not everybody, right? I could not live with someone in the same room again--had enough of that throughout college."
Ruby noticed his skip over the naked comment and noted with amusement but said nothing. He asked her about her room mate and she laughed, "No. Most people dont' have room mates. I just decided to move in because I don't like living alone. And what would I do with a whole room to myself? I don't usually have HANDS even. I'd get bored."
She rolled her shoulders again in her version of a shrug, "Vexen seemed like he needed some company SERIOUSLY so I decided to move in and I've lived there since.... kitchen's straight through those doors there." she nodded to the entrance to the castle.

He smirked at her name comment. "Thanks. You can call me Speed if you prefer." He hesitated only for a second. "What's your name?"
