escape from libet; backdated to this morning

It's been a long night, maybe even longer than the others. It's always harder to sleep on a moving train when you're worried another beast might come out of nowhere to try to snap you up in its jaws. Fortunately they only encountered the one, and although it was a tiresome battle, everybody managed to use their wits and teamwork to kill it ( Read more... )

SEE YOUR DEATH variare November 20 2011, 01:53:29 UTC
All right, the train has slowed! That's a good sign, isn't it? But before anyone can celebrate, the train is suddenly taking a dive, and it is clearly going way too fast. If one were to glance out the window, they'd see the sparks fly below, but really all they'd need to do is listen to the unsettling screeching sound that just won't end to know something's not right.

No matter what the residents try, there it no way to slow or stop the train. But the train's got to come to a stop eventually, right? ...Maaaybe not in the way you'd think.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel. Instead...there's nothing to look forward to but what looks like solid wall. This could be the end. You had best prepare yourselves, you may have less than minutes to live! Any last goodbyes? If you're smart, you'll just duck under the seats and grab onto something!

Or simply provide the best reaction face and scream like a pro. Everyone's a winner!

[ He is too good to scream. Unless it's an order! Or very strong suggestion. ]

Grab onto something!

[ Jr. is grabbing onto whoever he's currently closest to try and get them under the seats while he moves over them and grabs onto the base of the pole. Sorry, need to invade personal space to save lives! ]

[ ooc; Person can be anyone, of course, but he usually goes for the girls when protecting. ;o; ]

[Well I guess in a state of panic, one might get your genders confused. He's suddenly being shoved while he was trying to take cover himself]

Ah-!

[ Well it's not like he purposely aims for girls! That part's subconscious. But he'd be just as happy to die for you than for a beautiful woman, Allen. He takes broships seriously!

And in irritation at Allen's clueless reaction, he shoves his head down with his free hand. Shut your mouth or kiss steel, dumbass. ]

Allen, shut your trap and shield your face! We're crashing!

...OR LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY variare November 20 2011, 01:54:36 UTC
Surprisingly, however, the wall offers little to no resistance! It's a miracle!

Hopefully. Despite the mountain wall being (suspiciously) thin, the train's still packing enough momentum to be a danger as it slides down the grass. The crash that follows is no laughing matter, a sickening crunch of metal and rock sounding out as it makes contact with the bottom, and the harsh earth below. Anyone not holding on tight might risk being thrown clear across their car or out a window.

Once the dust has settled, it's clear that somehow they've made it outside the mountain. There might be a few serious injuries, but as long as everyone survived... Isn't that what matters?

[Daine's gripping a rail tightly, but as the train slams against the ground, her gips slips, and she's jerked around to who knows where. Someone catch?!]

[She'll catch, but the force knocks her to the ground too. Oh, well, she's had harder landings.]

You okay?

[Daine rolls off of Xena, a little shaky as she nods.]

I think so.

CAMP OR CONTINUE? variare November 20 2011, 02:02:14 UTC
It's up to the expedition members! It's been a long week and everyone is eager to get back to soft beds and hot showers, but at the same time, some people are injured and need rest.

Holding up a hand to try to get everyone's attention now that things have calmed down (okay maybe he needs to whistle again, it's tough being short!), he'll speak loudly. Despite his own injured arm, he seems to be acting okay.

"What do you guys want to do? Stay and set out first thing tomorrow morning, or just get the hell out of here now? No matter when we leave, some people might need to be carried, and any mounts anyone brought have been taken back to the castle.

We can also split up into two groups if it's a tie, if Sylvanas wants to lead the way back. I'm staying with the injured no matter what the call is."

Can you handle being a deserter, though?! No seriously, say what you want!

York's still in pretty good shape, all things considered. His group had more in the way of brain exercises than physical danger, and he's jumped off skyscrapers before. A little train semi-crash isn't going to slow him down.

Wounded will, though.

"I'll stay and help evac. If we can get people to the border, we can get them to medical attention that much faster."

Fred continues to survey the scene around them. Rest is likely needed, but with so many open wounds and people in need of medical attention -- she can't help but remember those glowing eyes the first night they took camp. Right now there's an awful lot of incentive in their group...

"Has anyone reached out to the castle? They might be able to reach us halfway."

He shrugs. "That'll take all of ten seconds, if someone wants to open a journal. If we're close to where we entered, we should be able to get to the TARDIS pretty soon."

If they could get the mounts back, like that giant fire dog thing Rin rode, it would be that much faster, too.

"Depending on how bad peoples' injuries are, we should be able to get everyone back in a few hours."
