escape from libet; backdated to this morning

It's been a long night, maybe even longer than the others. It's always harder to sleep on a moving train when you're worried another beast might come out of nowhere to try to snap you up in its jaws. Fortunately they only encountered the one, and although it was a tiresome battle, everybody managed to use their wits and teamwork to kill it ( Read more... )

Surprisingly, however, the wall offers little to no resistance! It's a miracle!

Hopefully. Despite the mountain wall being (suspiciously) thin, the train's still packing enough momentum to be a danger as it slides down the grass. The crash that follows is no laughing matter, a sickening crunch of metal and rock sounding out as it makes contact with the bottom, and the harsh earth below. Anyone not holding on tight might risk being thrown clear across their car or out a window.

Once the dust has settled, it's clear that somehow they've made it outside the mountain. There might be a few serious injuries, but as long as everyone survived... Isn't that what matters?

[Daine's gripping a rail tightly, but as the train slams against the ground, her gips slips, and she's jerked around to who knows where. Someone catch?!]

[She'll catch, but the force knocks her to the ground too. Oh, well, she's had harder landings.]

You okay?

[Daine rolls off of Xena, a little shaky as she nods.]

I think so.

Well. [Stands, brushes herself off, and checks herself over for injuries.] That was fun.

[Gwaine will get back to you on that "isn't that what matters?" question after he finds Allen and punches him in the arm. But sadly even that will have to wait while he first struggles to get up.]

Ohhh, my head.

[Near him, Vanyel groans, patting his own head and coming away from his forehead with blood. Brilliant.]

You are not bleeding, are you?

No.

[Lucky him. He glances over and sees the other is bleeding.]

Here, let me... [He reaches into his pack for a spare shirt he didn't use and rips it (it was Arthur's). He holds out the trip to Vanyel to hold against the laceration.]

[Vanyel nods, taking it, glad he did not have to rip his own, though it was already. Brilliant. He was not unused to it though. He wrapped the strip around his head and used a spare piece to mop the blood from his face.]

Thank you, sir.

[He nods and slowly stands up.]

I'm never getting on one of these blasted things again.

[He rose too, wincing, but for the most part decided he was fine, it bruised and beaten a bit. He had suffered worse.]

I hope my world never gains the knowledge of such things.

[let's see... Cerberus put to sleep with music, oddly-shaped key, and now a wall that lets the train go right through. Feels just like home again]

[She calls out to her, still trying to hang onto everything.]

Hermione! Are you all right?

Oh, yes, I'm all right. Are you?

Frightened, confused, and I think something bent my tail, but I think I'm also all right.
