Lente's Point Expedition - Day 3 (A Discussion)

Jun 16, 2011 20:26

[Lente looks oddly passive, her expression completely blank. Human emotions are exhausting to convey, and she has grown tired of trying after just one morning. These people are curious and blundering, perhaps to bit too eager to please, and liable to put themselves in danger in the future. Despite rumours of their experiences, they still seem to ( Read more... )

[Five's all set to ask some srs bizness questions ... and then there's a loud screech and a flutter, and a certain blue messenger parrot goes streaking off into the woods]

Tardy?! ... TARDY. You come back here, this very instant ...

[and with that, he'll leap to his feet and dash after him. SORRY GUYS, TAKE GOOD NOTES]

((OOC: ICly explaining my headcold kicking my ass. Don't mind me. He'll show up at the border in time to give everyone a ride back.))

[Was JUST opening his mouth to ask a question when he hears the screech and yelling.]

I-- Wh-- Lakare? TARDY! [Whatever important question he had has been utterly forgotten as he follows Lakare. It took both of them to catch him the FIRST time and that was with the TARDII, two nets and a banana.]

((OOC: aaaaaand ICly explaining drama/stress from work kicking my ass. He'll be at his TARDIS as well when the time comes to head back... though likely very dirty and disheveled from falling down a hill))

[he glances around and listens for quite a while before he finally speaks up. As much as he was all about taking notes and exploring and learning, there were two very specific questions that he wanted answered. The only two he cared about, really]

[clearing his throat a little] ...All I want to know is-- what is the castle, and what is that power source that the outsiders have been using?

[Rookie gives an enthusiastic nod when hearing Barney's look-a-like, since in his opinion that was a very good question. Though he made no attempt to ask Lente anything himself, only observing till he felt the need to comment.]

[She looks between the two, taking on a vaguely amused look.]

"Outsiders"?

That's what we've been calling the people living in the Dead Zone or just away from the castle in general. Although... when you think about it, we're the outsiders.

There's been talk of the castle having a power others want. Is this true?

On the map that was found, there's a symbol of a castle up north. Have you been?

No. Each time I have ventured there, the passage has been blocked.

[Violet munched on something and looked over at Lente. She was an interesting creature.] Were the people that came before a part of your world or were you all taken separately like us? Why did you all leave?

Reply

ad_aeternitatem June 17 2011, 02:37:37 UTC
Much of us were separate. I have known only one other from my world, in my time here.

[pause; there's a slight troubled expression on her face. It was so long ago...]

There was nothing left for us in Paradisa.

But the castle grants whatever you wish for. Why leave? [She repeats the question. There must be a deeper reason.]

[everyone is asking this lady questions, but when she said "share stories", Percy was expecting... a story]

I'd like to hear more about this place. In my world there are lots of stories explaining how places were founded or why there are seasons. Are there any stories like that in this world?

De sea. What stories do you have about de sea?

There is one that comes to mind, but it is a grim tale.

[She takes a thoughtful pause, before continuing.]

It is said that a family of five humans lived in a cottage by the sea to the west. A mother, a father, two sons, and a young daughter. The three men were apt fishermen, and it was a well-known stop for travelers seeking the fresh fish they carried on their travels.

However, one fateful day, a storm sank the two brothers with their ship. The young girl, distraught by the loss of her brothers, went into the sea to search for them, and never returned.

It is said that the girl lays now at the bottom of the sea there, and sustains herself by the foolish sailor who crosses her path.
