[if anyone is in a random park today, they might spot a homeless person (who may look familiar to a few of you) sitting on a bench and who's also getting a few weird looks from passersby.

coming closer reveals that Dextera seems to have set up a bit of a painting area for himself, but he's not exactly painting the scenery. two finished paintings

[Barnaby was just about to be one of those people that simply passes by without so much of a glance but for a second he almost swears that this mysterious homeless person going past the corner of his eye looks a bit familiar, and once he stops and notices that it is in fact someone he's met before in Paradisa, he backtracks and stands in front of Dextera's little makeshift art sale bench. with good timing too, as he manages to hear that stomach growl.]

Business not going well?

[he shakes his head and stops painting so he can rub his hands together to keep them warm before pulling out the journal to write.]

I don't think it's working. I'm not sure why.

[taking a step closer so he can lean in to see what's being written. after that he glances up at the paintings and... oh wow. yeah. that's not really something most people want in their living room]

...I might be able to explain what the problem is.

What is it? [yeah, he doesn't get it. Dextera knows that people like paintings, so what was different about these ones?]

[Stocking is on her way home from her job, finishing up a pastry as her other hand holds several bags full of boxes. All of the sweets, she has them. She is also feeling generous enough to bring them back to share with her "family" tonight.

As she nears the bench, she dusts her hand off and squints. That guy looks familiar...

[Dextera looks up when Stocking calls his name and waves a little bit. hello there.]

[She waves back, looking at the two completed pieces before speaking up again.]

Did the castle dump you out here?

[he tugs out the journal.]

I think so, but it isn't so bad.

[Haha. Whoops. Did they forget their houseboy in all the excitement? New cities and the surprise of having a business to run can do that. Well, they're here now.]

Dextera, what is all this?

[he looks up when Felix speaks but back down at the question before getting his journal.]

Paintings. [really morbid ones. it's pretty obvious that Dextera's world played a hand in his paintings, though the one he was currently working on - Death - was a special case.]

[He comes up to peer at the paintings, a bit disturbed, and looked back at Felix with a slight questioning brow, but did not comment on them to much.]

How long have you been out here, Dextera?

Not that long, I don't think. I tried staying in warm places, but it didn't work.
