Case 10: The Mysterious Cake

Nov 10, 2011 19:29

[The voice coming over the journal today is slightly embarrassed sounding. Yup this is long over due and he's finally getting to it.I, would like to apologize to all who may have been harmed in the course of the loss I was under, not too long ago. The time, well let me only say I have changed since that me and my present self. Most notably to ( Read more... )

[By now, Alan's forgotten all about the little prank he pulled when James was on his Victorian loss - especially since he doesn't see the journal entry, simply opens his door to find a delicious-looking cake waiting for him. While the notecard reminds him of the loss, it doesn't jog his memory about the prank.] That's nice of him...

[Alan brings the cake into his room to admire it a little more - and later, when he wants something sweet for a snack, he cuts into it anticipatorily. A cake that looks that good will have to taste good! (Even if it cuts kind of strangely.)

...Until he slices himself a piece and notices that it's not really cake. Oh, James, you got him good! Now he makes the connection between the pranks, and he has to smirk and chuckle to himself as he moves to the journal (which opened itself back when he brought the cake in, apparently.) He filters his message to James.]

Very funny, Sherlock.

[He's waiting for this, he really is. So when he hears the message from the journal, which he kept open for a reason, he chuckles. Even stick in the mud old men can have fun right?]

I'm glad you think so, I thought it was creative.

[Of course! Especially if everyone else doesn't know about their antics.]

It was certainly unexpected. [He laughs.] Did you decorate it yourself?

Of course, a man has to have some pride in his work yes? [Even if it is a childish prank.]

[Well, hello, James. She hasn't spoken to you in a while. Maybe partially because she was on a crazy little loss of her own. But we're definitely not going to talk about that.]

As opposed to another time of year?

[Yeah well you know what? He won't ask if you don't?]

Any other time of year a beard of that extent would be a cause for much irritation. The winter months I have found, are more agreeable to it.

[She's more than willing to agree to that deal. Way more than willing.]

That seems fair, I suppose.

[... She's mildly curious about this beard of yours :|]

Indeed, though the initial growing out stage can be just as bothersome as the summer months.

[Julia you did ask...and she's more then welcome to! Even if he is scruffy looking while he grows it out.]

Not physically no, but I do think I may have accidentally harmed some with my lack of, knowledge pertaining to them during my loss.

That's not really your fault, you know.

It may not be, however I was the cause of it. And I feel I should apologize for my behavior.
