If I am correct in estimating the trail's direction, it may be that Flora has some knowledge of Riful's activities.

To what end, I wonder? She is not attending to such things for our sakes, surely, for it would have been to our benefit to know of these events soon after they occurred. I also find it difficult to believe one who has declared herself a neutral party in the dispute with First Generation would be so moved by compassion as to interfere in conflicts among the castle's residents.

Perhaps that is not how she sees this. The Dead Zone is in some sense her territory. Perhaps she did want whatever it was to occur there.

I was within the circle and did not have access to my magic. I had to sense that particular trail from inside the border, which is a number of miles. That fact that I could do so indicates that it was a tremendous piece of magic.

Going by the trail, elsewhere within the Dead Zone, and we only know of a few people who have magic within the area, one of which would be Flora.

... Well, now, that's certainly an interesting piece of news. And your theory about Mineas Well would definitely hold water.

It may. But what does it mean? Nor does it tell me what she was up to.

I find it curious she was working alone.

Not necessarily as curious as it might seem. For one with so many allies, Riful is still very fond of her secrets.
