It would seem that the residents were quite busy as of late... I must admit that I heard some of what occurred, but I do not know very much at all. [...a giggle. His tone almost implies that he knew entirely what was going on.]

I do hope that no one was gravely injured this time, however. It seems quite the uproar was caused.

It Seems Like The Townspeople Bore The Brunt Of That Onslaught

It would seem that the Townspeople often do suffer the most out of the people that are harmed when occasions like this come about; it is a rather unfortunate thing about this world.

I Wondered If It Was Generally The Case
It Does Not Seem That They Are Inclined To Forge Close Ties With Us Nor That Many Residents Place Their Lives In High Priority
So I Am To Take It They Are Most Often Considered
Fodder
To Put It In The Harshest Possible Way
I Suppose

Harsh or not, it does seem that way on a number of occasions - and there are only so many Castle residents who truly seem inclined to help the townspeople, so it can be quite disheartening when events similar to this take place.

Do You Know
What Happens To Them

...I wish that I did. But the Castle has hindered my sight to such an extent that I do not even know what happens to the Castle residents, let alone what happens to the people within the town.

If I May Ask
What Happens To People
In Your Native World

If I truly have a "native world", Kanaya, then it is this one; I did not live in Minato's world, nor could I have been considered to.

...But you will have to forgive me; that is not information that I can in good conscience share with you.

I imagine you will find out for yourself at some point, however.

... My own situation at home is somewhat unique, as it happens... so I am unsure what I will experience, or what I have experienced.

...are you worried about what will happen to you?

... I am uncertain at the point I left as to what else can happen.

So it is a situation like that, is it? ...I am afraid that because of how my sight has been affected, I am not able to tell you what will happen.

But if the "acting form of death" in your world is doing their "job" correctly... you will not suffer for long should you die.

Perhaps I am not being clear. What I should say is that, at the point I left, I had died already. I do not know what happens after that, but I am now informed by my compatriots from further along the timeline that I have returned as a rainbow drinker, and am now apparently undead.

How all this came to be, or what else could happen to me, I do not know.

...I am afraid that I do not know what a rainbow drinker is. But this has yet to actually happen to you, is that correct?

Does the idea of becoming one frighten you?

A rainbow drinker feeds on the blood of other trolls, and stalks Alternia during the daylight hours, when the sun prevents most trolls from venturing outside. It is not a common transformation, and I am not sure what it means for me, or whether I will be immortal from thereon out... I died once, which was the crucible of my transformation, it seems. What the future holds for me I do not know.

It is a mystery. And there is great romance in the prospect of a mystery. But to be honest, I would appreciate having something to rely on surely, at this point.

I am afraid that I am uncertain of what I can tell you about the matter, Kanaya. I do not know enough about the lore of your world to make any accurate guesses on the matter; though these "rainbow drinkers" sound quite similar to vampires.

But I do hope that it will end fortunately for you.
