[Thanks to the Meta being on the loose, York is no longer staying in his room--no matter what security measures he uses, it's just not safe, and he'd rather not be murdered in his sleep, thanks. Aside from putting a major damper on his social life (except for the Host Club, he always has to make it there), it means he's mostly been acorn-free in ( Read more... )

That sounds like fun. Would you like me to bring anything else?

Think I got everything else, unless you want to plant a lot. Then you'll have to bring extra pots.

Or, you know, we could always wish them up.

We'll see what we get done first. I'll be sure to bring plenty of acorns, though.

Awesome. You been in the TARDIS before or do you need directions?

[Well, you sound...excited.]

Sure, just head on up to 1102. Come inside the box with the open door.

[There's the sound of hooves trotting along over the journal, and then a tiny pink pony bounds in the door.]

Hi there~!

[She'd been planning on a visit regardless, given the current circumstances, and only just caught his journal entry as she opened it to jot down some personal notes.]

Planning a big turnout, or is there still room for a Spartan in there?

Always room for more Spartans, if you ask me. You ever painted a flowerpot before?

Can't say I have. There's a first for everything, isn't there?

[Not much longer and she's there, pulling off her helmet as she steps in.] When the castle throws you lemons, grow a lemon-tree?

Sure is.

[He's got a couple of little flowerpots - not big enough for a full tree, but it should be more than enough for a little sprout, and Delta's helping him put fractal patterns onto them. They're a little messy, since York's not exactly an artist.]

Or acorns and oaks, as the case may be. I figure it's either giving us them for a reason, or else it won't hurt to stave off the boredom.

You really think that's what this is about? [humteedum - gonna come over in a few minutes.]

Well, it's as good a guess as any. Don't know how the little black things figure into it, though. Unless they're some kind of seed thing too?

[He'll be sitting on a table in the console room, putting some finishing touches on a flowerpot.]

[arts and crafts hour with the space marine - kind of a strange way to come... ken comes in and waves.]

But they're alive, aren't they? I don't know if they'd appreciate being planted...

[He waves Ken over, where he's got a couple flowerpots now with cool fractal designs on it shut up Delta says fractals are cool.]

I guess they are. Haven't seen any of them in here, though, so I'm not really sure.

[It was the room number and the mention of the TARDIS that caught her attention. She was lucky enough to have been introduced to the TARDIS by Five when she first arrived and she's a little in awe of it.]

You are a friend of the Doctor, then?

[A mildly amused sound] I should like to see the people here become accustomed to a forest dwelling, I think. Some would adapt much more quickly than others. [You people and your reliance on electricity and running water...]

That's me. Freelancer York, at your service.

[And he just chuckles a little at the idea.] Hey, don't look at me. I'm a city-boy all my life, but I can burn meat over a campfire if I have to.

It is a pleasure. I am Galadriel, Lady of Lórien. I take it "Freelancer" is a title of some sort?

And what would you make of a city within a forest? For such is my home.

Pleasure's mine--and yeah, usually I just go by York.

[A city in a forest? Hmm, he's pretty sure they've had those on at least some of the colony worlds.] That depends. I don't mind sleeping outside, but would we still have supermarkets to buy our food from?
