I've found another one of them red marked journal entries. This one says:

The adults are really angry. They held an open forum to discuss what we're going to do and organize search parties and get to the bottom of this, but it turned into anger and hostility. They think the kidnapper is one of us. Some of the people with strange abilities, like walking through walls or teleporting, are being accused of all the kidnappings, but there's no proof.
I left before the end, when people had to start holding each other back, because I didn't want anything to do with that: I just want my cousin back
[He scoffs. That just reminds him of everyone blaming everyone else on that zombie apocalypse thing]
Sounds about right for people in a situation they can't handle. I wonder if they had Herbert Moon with them.
