[The sun is shining, flowers are blooming, parrots are screeching, and Arsenal's lounging in the lobby looking out for a redhead, a Superboy, and that girl he barely talked to. He's also scratching out a map of his own, an expanded bit of the area west of the lake.]
'Morning! Ready to head out?
((This is a gathering-together and setting-out post

[ leaves erica's side to skid down closer to him, reaching out to grab his sleeve just to make sure he doesn't fall after it, digging the heels of his boots into a much sturdier rock ]
You okay?!

Still in one piece up there?

Be careful! Sheesh...

[An eyeroll for you, kids] I'm fine, worrywarts. [Clasps Junior's arm in return as he heads to more solid ground] And what were you gonna do if I wasn't, kiddo? You realize I could've taken you over the edge with me, right?
[pause] I did misjudge the rock face. It's gotta be nearly all sandstone around here. [Half-smiles back at that] Geez, reminds me of home.

Sounds like kind of a barren home, even if it looks nice. But then you are pretty much Wilderness Man, huh?
[ he checks out the scenery again before moving past roy to see how far kon is and where the markers are. it's gonna take awhile to catch up to kon, so he holds out a hand and anyone nearby gets covered in some flashy glow for a sec ]
There. That should help us move faster, and sharpen our reflexes in case anyone slips again. The potency isn't gonna be at one hundred percent this close to the barrier, but it's better than nothing 'til we reach it.

[adjusts her backpack and peers down the wide expanse of rock -- they still have a ways to go. Hopefully the winds will remain strong enough as the team proceeds, because Jr.'s words reminded her of just what limitations they're facing...]
Right, let's try that again.

Gotta say, so far this spot for an outpost might make a real pain to carry supplies to. That is, unless we find a shortcut of course.

Only if you don't have people like me to get you there.

Yeah, 'cause you guys were real helpful around January. You know, when the castle brainwashed anyone it considered powerful leaving the rest of us on our own.
Whose to say it won't do something like that again? People who can't fly need to be able to access this thing if something goes wrong.

But look. We've got this guy, [Thumbjerk at Kon,] Wonder Woman, half a dozen others, and Moonbay has a giant robot. If we find a good place we can probably knock a road right through the mountainside. It's not granite.
[To demonstrate he whips a kick at another rock , human strength easily separating the top from the rest. It echoes on the way down, but Roy's more impressed at the upped speed. Appreciative grin for Junior.]

Make a road like that, someone vindictive with powers could probably make a roadblock just as easy too with these rocks available. Or hell, a bad winter or bad storm could cause a landslide over the one road at a time when we don't have time to make a new one.
But hey, whatever you think~
[But he'll just continue on his way down]

You didn't miss anything fun, man.
[ is free! personal space, he missed you. he just kind of watches that rock go flying down, which reminds him of a certain android ]
Too bad KOS-MOS isn't here anymore. She'd be perfect with her beam attacks to carve out a road. I'd probably just blow the whole damn thing up if I tried.

Got any better ideas, or are you just gonna bitch at anyone else who offers them up?

Right, because offering realistic points about things that could very likely happen or have in the past is nothing more than annoying bitching when we're looking for a nice, safe spot for an outpost that may become a refuge for people in danger. Sorry to rain on your fluffy optimism parade with a bit of cynicism.
[He then gives a very patient sigh]
We either look for a route around this place that's easier to access for people or various spots for a road. But since we have yet to find a water supply, a hot spring or have any idea how fertile the ground is for growing things - we may have to think about looking into what the other groups found....
[a shrug] I came here to do a job of scouting out places and reporting back, that's all. Not to force my scouting spot while ignoring it's flaws onto people just so I can win bragging rights or a pizza party. Long as I do my job and do it well, I'll go back happy~
