Do you know how rare those are?

Extremely. Though in my world, it's more that they are rarely seen, as they live far beyond human reaches.

[ albus smiles at her! Fawkes is just sitting comfortably, humming every now and then. when she stares, he'll just stare back ]

Hello Mai! How was your Christmas?

[ ...watches that, amused. Fawkes cranes his neck a bit to observe, fluttering his feathers a bit. albus hear that cough, though +__+ cough some more, so he'll recognise it :P ]

[ ooc; akito got a small replica of a golden snitch. it isn't activated by touch, and so it is constantly fluttering. it won't fly very far (maybe a hundred yards as a limit), and is not quite as fast as a regular snitch. it will always come back to akito. agito got a few books, and a coat that will always keep him warm. also caaaandy for them both ]

[There's some fluttering through the journal.]

Thanks, Albus. How did the bird change like that ...?

Oh, okay. [Yaaaay magic yaaaay!] I've seen magic animals before, but they couldn't change their shape. At least, I don't think they could ...

Well, to be fair, it's really the handkerchief that changes into the bird. There are a few shape-shifting animals, though.

Thank you very much for your gifts, Albus.

Am I to believe you've also received a nonhuman companion?

You as well, Ms. Sage. I look forward to perusing that book.

Indeed. A phoenix, from my world; one that seems to know me.

Oh? Oh, how very fascinating. No matter where it appears, a phoenix is a bird of great magic. The ones from my world are resurrected after they sustain enough damage....

They're the most extraordinary creatures. Fawkes and others of his kind live their lives in cycles. They will be reborn when they are killed, or when they die of old age.

What did you receive, Ms. Sage?
