14 ✪ Olden times and ancient rhymes of love and dreams to share

[ Since Ten is thoroughly convinced that something bad is going to happen on the 24th, if not sooner, he's giving his gifts out early. Thanks to the castle, some bits of useless technology laying about the TARDIS and some decent jiggery-pokery, he managed to teleport the scant few gifts he got for people right into where they're staying. ]

[When they get back from whatever wandering they were doing, Delta immediately notices the addition to the room. The energy looks familiar on a scan, though, so they approach it cautiously and York picks up the first note. Laughing as Delta reads it (comprehending the technobabble to the best of his ability), he unscrews the canister and lets the little nanobits in under his armor.

After all, while he already had healing armor, it couldn't do anything about nerve damage, and his eye had been broken again ever since he'd come back from death. Not anymore.] Gonna take me a few days to get used to this again, D.

[Then he catches sight of the other note. Setting the first piece of paper down, he take it and reads quietly. When he notices the fine print he freezes for a long moment ( ... )

[ Ten has his journal with him while he sits on the roof and when he hears the dictated message he lets out a soft, quiet laugh. ]

You're welcome.

[ There's a slight pause on his end-- should they find a way out before either of them got sent home, and should York end up traveling with him, and him, there would be a catch. The whole dying bit makes it a bit problematic. But Ten figures it would be best to not ruin the mood. They'd get to that when they got to it. ]

You get the nanites in alright?

Yeah. They're, uh, fast. D won't have a problem integrating them.

[Problems with the second gift or not, York is really touched by the gesture. He'll keep that paper forever.]

Fast... old injury got fixed, then?

[ It was a possibility with the gift, but admittedly one he hadn't thought of. But it was nice to know that the nanites were almost a two-fold gift. ]

[ she doesn't mind if you both can read this filter man, it is easier than doing a separate one and she doesn't exactly have name to separate you two ]

Thank you, both of you, I will be sure to keep it safe.

You're welcome, Morgana.

[ they should! it is all confusing to her poor brain ]

The stone is beautiful as well. If only I had a gift to give in return.

[ Her's and everyone else's, apparently ]

I didn't expect one in return. That's part of the charm of giving gifts.

[Lucy comes back from walking her Arcanine--she does this every day it's nice enough out, and sometimes when it's not--to find Ten's present in her room, and she opens it curiously. When she sees what it is, she can't help it... she starts laughing. It's not entirely sane laughter, but it's genuine amusement all the same, despite being almost wholly silent.

She lets the ghosts hang the clock up on the wall while the cats play with the wrapping paper. Of course, this means she has to get him something in return...]

[chuckles, softly] Kettles and string are already in rather good supply, Doctor. ... But thank you. This is lovely.

[and just to get at him, in a good-natured way? he's pinning it on his OTHER lapel, opposite the celery. heh heh heh. and a little later, the ghosts are knocking at the TARDIS door with his gift, wrapped up in something silvery that reflects the light when tilted. inside are a couple of images of Gallifrey that he was able to find around the TARDIS databanks, printed and nicely framed, a banana, and a box of edible ball bearings]

[ The pictures makes Ten grin a melancholy sort of grin. It takes him a few minutes after he gets it, but he scribbles down a note to Five: ]

Thank you. So very much.

Oh, and the banana was delicious as well.

You're more than welcome. ... I'm glad to hear the banana wasn't too green. I was going to wait for Christmas, after all.

Speaking of edibles... What's this I heard about a gingerbread TARDIS?

I thought it best to give out gifts before whatever the castle is planning happens.

Oh! I found York and Delta making D a gingerbread house in the kitchen one day and ended up making a gingerTARDIS with helpful suggestions from York.
