Ah, Fun, fun memories of my dentist announcing "we'll just whip out these wisdom teeth for you. They're not causing any problems but they might at some time inthe future and we don't want that happening... do we?"
Next thing I know I'm dangling upside down in an orthodontists chair with some big bloke gong at my face with a hammer and chisel. I kid you not.
You've got my sympathies, of course, and it will stop hurting soon. Did they tell you to take a coule of paracetemol and that that'd deal with any 'discomfort'? Yeah, I believed them too...

Sounds like my dentist. Good thing I only have 1 wisdom tooth, and it grew out straight.
They prescribed me 500mg amoxicillin and 800mg ibuprofen to take 3 times a day. My question was... why not just tell me to take 4 advils/generic ibuprofen instead of giving me a prescription for the painkiller? My insurance doesn't cover meds, but good thing it was only 25 bucks total.
I've done my time with the orthodontists (3 years or so of it), hence the "previous experiences". I'm missing the 4 premolars on the bottom (so the baby teeth never came out), so before I got my braces they gave me two options: remove the babies and 2 teeth on the top to "match", or try a headgear for 6 months first. Which one do you think my(early teenage)self chose? :O
It's actually not too awful, but now I have to go to work. I just can't say no to my manager O.o
