in slightly more amusing news, debboamerik had to drive us to Baltimore yesterday, because I can't drive over residential speeding limits, in Beltway traffic, or in the dark without my glasses. my girlfriend will perhaps not hurt me too much if I mention that even when I can see well enough where we're going I'm not terribly fond of being driven places by her ( Read more... )

More of them walk down the middle of the road, forcing cars to honk or go around them, than actually use the sidewalks.

for me, what's particularly odd about that is, in the suburbs or DC that behavior invariably pisses me off, but in Baltimore I find it rather comforting. it lets me know I'm home, in the place I belong.

I'd just like to mention that a great deal of this is because the "I'm lost" anxiety coincides, when in the car, with the "what the fuck are the traffic rules am I going the wrong way/speed omg we're going to DIE" anxiety.
