FML, and what it makes me think of you.

So, I’ve noticed a lot of this “FML” stuff going around and it makes me sick. It’s so in vogue to seem helpless and afflicted these days and it makes me want to strangle someone. Why is it so unfashionable to really be happy about something? Do we ever really talk about what makes us happy any more? No, because that’s not cool. I mean, ( Read more... )

oh, i totally agree. despite the things that go wrong and the problem i might have, still almost every day, i look around my home and can't believe all the cool stuff i have or how great it is simply to own my own house that i can do what ever i want in whenever i want to. i think some of these FML people need to try living in a third world country THEN see if the life they have now is still worth fucking. i need to hold myself back here or else i just may write a whole rant in your comment box here it gets me so infuriated.

www.fmylife.com And prepare to be sickened.

This is why people add "FML" after everything bad that happens to them.

Hurm.

Firstly, I was struck by how dumb it really.

Secondly, if you're going to use "My life sucks, I don't give a fuck", that alludes to the fact that you at least care somewhat. Flawed much?

So who the hell cares?

Today, the guy I like asked to me the upcoming dance. I immediately rejected him, assuming that it was just a joke between him and his friends. With a dejected face, he walked away, and I saw him throw something in the trash can. It was a rose, for me. He wasn't joking. FML

...seriously? Gah! you dumb bitch. -_-;;

well, most FMLs are exactly what you say. But if you go into the Top FMLs, there *are* ones that have left a serious impact upon the user. I can't get the site to open right now (darn internets), but I believe one of the top ones is "Today, my husband found the box my morning after pill came in. He had a vasectomy 10 years ago. FML" I read them as 1)a cautionary tale (don't do stupid shit), 2)get over how sucky my life can sometimes be, other people have it worse, and 3)just to laugh at the sheer stupidity of some people (it reminds me of americas funniest home videos, except i read).

I however, do NOT throw an "FML" out at anything that happens in my life. Only once. And I had a good reason at the time. But I never use it otherwise. My life is never that bad.

No, I realize that there are big fuck-offs that life throws you every once in a while, but it's people who throw it around casually that really bother me. It's like they want to feel helpless.
