Here's the part that amazes me about that video... how NOT sexualised it is, compared to a lot of videos in that genre.

I've seen music videos where the women and men were practically copulating on camera. Remove one layer of clothing and it could've been porn. Thankfully, I rarely see music videos. That was in a time (maybe 3-5 years ago) when I was "stealing" the tv aspect of cable through my internet line (my logic was that I was already paying for the service to the house, and they wouldn't have a way of knowing the filter was removed without looking). When they found it (as is inevitable) and put a filter on, I never changed it back. Partly because they also locked the cable post that time. lol

Seriously, I like story-based music videos as much as the next person but do they really need to be so ridiculous? It's usually the simpler videos that are more memorable anyway. For example I can clearly picture Will Smith's "Just the Two of Us" video in my head and James Blunt's "You're Beautiful," but I can't even remember what videos these are supposed to be for and if it weren't you mentioning them I wouldn't even know who the girls were.

I'd say Beyonce's is actually pretty memorable because it's all a one-shot dance number, but... the claw. Why the claw? I don't get it.

I haven't watched anything by her in a while, but I agree. Her "design" is the one such that you'd recognize it as her. All the others... again, if you didn't say the names I'd have no idea who they were.

I'm seriously wondering on the claw, myself. It took me a minute to realize that was her hand and not some weird award she won or something!

I think it's more like a hella shiny 'flash' glove, if the hand motions in the dance meant anything. My younger sister was in drill for a couple of years, so I was educated in the joys of what pieces were what and provide random numbers. Usually flash gloves are white on one side (the palm) while the other side is a different shade, mostly black. Supposed to add flair to the routine and keep the audience interested in the routine long enough for them to finish. :U
