heh, i read the comics after watching the tv show..and i was shocked to see how small Firestar's role was in the comics. She was such a strong character in the cartoon that I expected that she'd be rather important to the X-men in the comics.
It's too late and that's too much cheese to deal with this close to bedtime. I made it about 5 minutes in though, and I'll go back for the rest tomorrow. Thanks for posting the link... but I don't usually like to go back and watch stuff I loved as a kid cause it always ends up looking so bad. It's like the time I bought all these Silverhawks DVDs (cause I remembered them being so cool) and I made it through half the first episode before I decided I just had to stop watching. I want to remember these things as being cool. (This is why I will never rewatch the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon or G-Force.)
This was shocking, because I remember watching this show as a kid and I really liked it, I don't remember it being so bad! There are so many, many things wrong...
- beginning credits. They transform the room into a computer HQ, then they...fly out the window to fight the giant fire monster? Where did the fire monster come from? How useless is Firestar in that situation? Why do they need the computers--to write about it on lj when they're done?
- Xavier's massive drag queen eyebrows
...and the list goes on. I love Firestar, but all I can think about now is her ovaries in peril. Also, Peter Rasputin is hot. Thanks for the link!

Oddly enough, it doesn't age badly. Especially if you remember hair rock from the 80's.
Hellbelle, here on my F-List, did a complete Misfits cosplay with three of her friends a few years back - and came up with a Death Metal variation for them as well - all chrome and black leather. It really kicked ass.

Might want to stop where you have again, then man.
This is really more of those "Cool In It's Time" things than a "Still Really Cool" sort of thing.

...but, yeah, I think it's safer for my own self-image if I just leave it in my past.

Looking forward to X3 this weekend.
My next post will probably have images of Stan and Claremont's cameos this time around.

"Peter Rasputin is Hot - Film at 11..."
These things rarely age very well. Have you watched any Jem since you were a little girl?

There's one I really shouldn't watch again. I loved it so much, but just thinking about it now makes my head explode.

And Spider-Woman is very much "in vogue" right now, I wonder if we'll ever get a "hydra" movie???
