I've been having a lot of "deep thoughts" about slash and whatnot lately, lol. Thought I would share them with y'all. Some more serious than others. I will cut it in case no one cares, lol.
That makes total sense, seeing men not be totally "masculine" with each other is attractive to women. I dunno if you watch Heroes, but these two brothers Nathan and Peter are always like, touching each other's faces and hugging and stuff on the show, and of course they're the biggest pairing in the fandom even though they're brothers. :P
I guess that's true, keeping them to myself by making them gay. Especially in fandoms where there's an equal amount of female characters to pair them with, like Harry Potter. I barely ever write het HP fic, and when I do it's pretty innocent and not smut, lol. Because I do really love all the HP men. :P In Metalocalypse, there's not really any women in the story to be a "threat" lol, so I think we just like the idea of them being gay. XDD
Hey, I don't think we have to explain why we slash! It's a good hobby, I think. XDD
I know, that's what was so surprising about Metalocalypse, the slash is very out in the open! I think that's cool, though, that everyone kind of accepts it. In some fandoms a lot of people think the slash is weird, and if you mention it in a general fandom comm or something, people freak out. :P
I've tried to explain slash to my mom (leaving out the smut of course), but she never remembers anything I say about fandom. Well, except who my crush du jour is (hello crappy Aaron Eckhart movie for my birthday). XD If I ever get around to finishing any of my fanfic, she has offered to beta (had to explain what that was too LOL) it. I of course won't have her look at the smut of course. Just reading the same trashy romance novels as each other makes me uncomfortable sometimes. XDDDD
HP: That is one thing I really love about that fandom, all the characters. More room for all sorts of kink. *pervs* Still needs more femmeslash though.
Crowley/Aziraphale, thank you so much for introducing me to that ship!!!! *huuuugs*
Batman: I totally blame my shipping Bruce/Harvey on bale_eckhart. So macho! "Um...they're cartoons!" he said, flabbergasted. Hehehe. SO?!?!?
Hahaha, I could never explain slash to my mom! It's bad enough that she now wants to read the Sookie books, and I'm like "THEY'RE TOO STEAMY FOR YOU!" XDD That would even be ok, but she doesn't need to know that I actually write smut. Some of my newer friends are just starting to figure out my slashiness, lol. I don't hide it. :P
Yeah, I love the HP fandom, there's so much variety! I'll read just about any HP ship. The only ones that freak me out are an older-generation character with one of the kids. Snape/Harry? *barf*
OMG CROWLEY/AZIRAPHALE ARE SO GREAT. There was quite a bit of subtext in the book, I thought. Especially with Aziraphale, he really had a gay vibe to him. And Crowley is one of the coolest characters ever. Also the whole opposites thing, and angel and a demon? Hot!
Hahahahaha, there ain't nothin wrong with two macho men macking each other. :D

Yo, I've stumbled upon some Weasley incest (even twincest too) in fic or art, and it's really messed up! Mad creepy. XD
Hahaha, at least that not gay twincest! That makes it...slightly better? Hey, it's ok in Star Wars! XDDD

And that is unusual. I mean, I grew up with Star Trek fandom. Slash more or less started there. Slash is usually the hidden 10% of a fandom.
