Interested to see what your opinion on Advocare is. I just started, but it includes maintaining a healthy balance of the food pyramid as well while you use the products.

While so many people starve, I think it's fairly irresponsible to overfeed and spend on whatever latest miracle cure it be for lazy and selfish tendencies, Sarah.

:shrugs: whether you feed or overfeed doesnt really matter. that food is not going to end in someones else mouth. lifestyle changes are for yourself i think. there needs to be something deeper than wearing hemp sandals and living in coops i think

I have no idea why you spent a blog entry on this. You didn't really say anything enlightening or give your own unique perspective on it. You didn't talk about differing lifestyles or how your own lifestyle contributes to your health. Also within the first couple sentences all you gave was that you are thin, and then you went on about your "current fitness," which leads me to think that you believe weight and fitness are directly correlated and one equals the other. A common misconception that, if you have, you should probably not be posting an entry on health.

My intention was not to imply that thinness and fitness are synonymous terms. This entry appeared as a response to comments on my Facebook page implying that I was "too" thin. The point of my posting it was to urge against the insinuation that I harbored some variety of eating disorder, and if there was any merit outside of that intrinsic value to me, it was only to encourage others to do reading on health, fitness, diet and exercise, or otherwise to seek professional help.

You didn't really address anything that person's saying at all. They made some fair points, but you just said it was your "personal manifesto." How can something be your personal manifesto when you're speaking about why OTHER PEOPLE are obese? And, frankly, speaking about this issue incorrectly. It's not relevant why you chose to post this. I don't care what it was in response to. However, just fyi, a better response to people accusing you of being "too thin" would have been something about the serious nature of eating disorders and how weight is not in any way an indication of physical health, whether that person appear "too thin" or "too fat." This is not what you actually said. In fact, you haven't addressed in your responses to either of your criticisms what you did say in any way, shape, or form. Obviously, you're about as good at debating as you are at talking about health and fitness.

From the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention: "Percent of noninstitutionalized adults age 20 years and over who are overweight or obese: 67% (2005-2006)". Not the most current data, but it does reveal the trend. Your IP address reveals you're in Lansing, MI, so odds are 2/3 you are overweight and/or obese. It's just math. http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/overwt.htm

Yeah, definitely agree with the last comment. Also, do you realize a lot of the obesity epidemic is not simply people being lazy? A lot of it is this is the fact that "food deserts" exist in urban areas. These are ares in which low income families simply don't have access to fresh fruits and whole grains, and become largely reliant on gas stations and convenient stores for food. These days the cheapest, and most readily available foods for most people are mass produced garbage. Oftentimes, people don't choose to eat these to indulge a sweet tooth; they are forced to consume them as they have nowhere else to go ( ... )

I notice that not only do you agree with the comment above you, it was similarly posted from your very same IP address. Next time, don't try to hide and back yourself up when flaming me.

About my entry: it was a personal manifesto.

Who said it was the same person? Use your brain. It could've been a friend/family members/co-worker who was sharing a computer. Duh. It's ridiculous to think that only one person dislikes your work. I assure you, many of us do.

You should likely opt to use your brain as well; her suggestion that you were one and the same based on the IP address is not an entirely sound argument, but nor is it sound to assume that given her response, she assumes only one person has a dislike of her work. Naive.
