So, we had our first meeting with the Doula today. It went well. She's very responsive to what I say and wanted to know about what we saw her role as. I like her. It's reassuring to know we'll have some experienced support at the birth. We have our next meeting in two weeks, and hopefully the baby will come soon after that ( Read more... )

EFF THE NIPPLE CONFUSION!!! I WAITED THREE WEEKS AND WAS LOCKED IN FOR FIFTEEN MONTHS BECAUSE SHE WOULD NEVER EVER EVER TAKE A BOTTLE!!! I had friends who gave their kids bottles in the hospital and they had no problem. I don't believe the nipple confusion. As long as you get a nipple with a really slow flow, it shouldn't be an issue, I'm guessing. It really helps if someone else can give a feeding, believe you me. I ended up getting an electric pump after a few months of hand pumping and it was wonderful. I expressed and mixed it in with her cereal once she was on solid foods and she loved it.

Is he doing that crazy sharky thing where it looks as if he may stick an elbow out?

Heh. That's good to know about the bottle. We'll see how it goes. I don't see his elbows at all - they are all towards my spine. All I see is the baby bum!!!
