Vote Lib-Dem, and join in the inevitable election reform riots that happen when they get the most individual votes over all, but still come third?

How about a vote-swap? Find a labour voter in a safe seat, get them to vote lib dem in exchange for your labour vote? It's still stretching your pledge, but gives you some kind of excuse.

Tempted, but this a) requires organisation in these last few hours and b) I'm not sure I'd be willing to go through with it.

Yep, vote with your conscience. At least you won't be putting your tick against the destruction of our civil liberties.

And if enough other people in your borough feel the same, chances for a Portillo moment are not so small it's not worth bothering with...

For tonight I'll be going to the conference dinner at #eslab2010 and then heading back to my hotel to wrestle with myself about whether to watch election coverage into the small hours or to get some sleep and get to the conference sessions on Friday.

Decisions, decisions...

I won't get to the polling station until quite late this afternoon. I still haven't decided who to vote for - I suspect I'm going to end up going with my heart and who I really want to win rather than my head and who is more likely to take the seat from the current party.

I also suspect I won't *actually* decide until I'm in the booth with the pencil in my hand.
