Her new job, which she started in the morning. Her trip to DC with Charlie, which had been lovely. A glittery cabin. Alphonse, who had given her a book and also some unusual ideas. Marco came into the room, bag in hand and completely confused. "Snowman? Abonimable?"

Naminé looked up, curiously, at the boy who was holding ... a bag?

She blinked a few times. "Are you ... Marco?!"

"Not Polo." Marco said with a nod. "Also? Your friendly local vending machine."

"You're ... a vending machine?" This place was strange and only got weirder, it seemed. "Is that why you weren't here? Are you all right?"

Sokka flopped down next to her, turned the television on, and started flipping channels looking for something decent.

"Hey there!" he said cheerfully, over the noise of the shopping channel, which quickly changed to something Spanish-language, and then something with really sappy sad dramatic music.

"How are you liking it here?"

Naminé nodded to the television. "There was a dramatic documentary on a world without knives yesterday," she said, in a mock-serious tone. "Aravis and I werer rather unimpressed by it."

She considered his question. "I ... that's odd. I suppose I'm rather enjoying myself."

"A world without knives?" Sokka responded, in a incredulous tone. Mock! Mock-incredulous! "How did they cut their meat?"

And then he looked her over. "The whoever haven't come after you, right? Are you feeling any safer?"

"Well, the documentary was on their fabulous discovery of knives, and the way it would save them from the metal cylinders which were, even now, invading their land. Thrilling, but a bit leaning to propaganda over actual truth. War effort and all, you know."

She flushed a little at his question, swallowing past the nervousness forming a lump in her throat. "I'm ... I'm perfectly safe, I'm certain. I've already got heroes offering a rescue brigade should anything happen, despite how I try to talk them out of it."
