Am I the only one not excited to see Choke? I'm a firm believer that Chuck has down the art of internalized monologue down to perfection & that just isn't something that translates well into film.
I have my concerns...ar7983September 26 2008, 14:49:26 UTC
but I'm also going to attend the first screening in the area in an hour. If the adaptation was being done without Chuck's involvement, I'd probably avoid it like the plague, but with him at the screenwriting helm, I'm more relaxed about it.
I have faith though I know it's changed. I think I'm just going to enjoy it "as a film" not as "an adaptation of a book", because I'm not gonna let anything get in the way of me enjoying the awesome that is Sam Rockwell.
I'm excited, but I'm actually really apprehensive about the whole thing. I feel like it could easily be very disappointing. I suppose that's the problem with envisioning something in your head first...

The book is always going to be better than the movie, so the best thing to do is to disregard it as an adaption and view it solely as a film.
I for one am really looking forward to it!
