Am I the only one not excited to see Choke? I'm a firm believer that Chuck has down the art of internalized monologue down to perfection & that just isn't something that translates well into film.
I have no doubt that it some areas, I will be disappointed. Especially after reading these comments.
But I accept the fact that it's just a movie and I will always love the book. :P I mean, it won't upset me. It'll just make me think "eh, read the book. it's better."
If that makes sense to anyone... lol gonna see it tonighttt
not terribly excited...but who knows- i haven't seen the movie yet but strictly based on the trailer- wasnt a very good trailer at all!
buttttt a lot of times they HAVE to make trailers a certain way to GET the general masses to come, so of course they're going to open it with a stripper dancing, you know?
if i had read fight club first- i would've never thought they could make such an amazing film out of it- so who knows- i still look forward to seeing it and am hoping they don't downplay the characters- i'm hoping they just had to make the trailer that way to attract the masses
How are any of you surprised? Fight Club the movie was shit compared to fight club the book. Movies of books always suck. ALWAYS. They're single purpose is to get the book to people too fuckin' stupid to read a book.

I am nervous about Choke though, it's true. Just hoping it's better than the previews make it out to be.

It looks like a comedy.
I will see it only to see what they end up doing with it but it seems like it won't have the books essence.
