Oh god, I just finished watching the newest episode. During the entire scene between Sue and her sister, I literally had tears running down my face. The whole episode was fantastic, but that scene is probably the most character defining scene in the entire show, hands down.
Such a fantastic show. I'm glad it's doing so well.
In general I have not completely jumped onto the Glee bandwagon, but I did find this week's episode far better than most. And that Proud Mary number was just brilliant.
:) I knew we were in for a treat when "Ryan Murphy" was shown as the writer - i've yet to find a series where the series creator penning an episode hasn't been fantastic. (Mad Men - Weiner, Sopranos - David Chase, and so on.)
I think the show is still struggling to find a consistent tone and a consistent use of musical conventions. Last night hit the best note of mixing melodrama, humor, music and performance into a tight package. I hope the show is able to build off this effort and become more consistent - it's always entertaining to me, but i'd also like it to be good!
