The shout of his name practically caused Rory to jump out of his skin. However, he quickly placed the voice and relaxed. He wasn't sure WHY he was jumpy since he'd known the Doctor was coming. He supposed it was just the fact that there wasn't much noise around here like people shouting like that.

He turned around, quickly spying the familiar sight of a man in a bow tie shouting at him. Yeah, he was used to that too, well, to some extent. Rory approached him. He was still a little nervous about this. He was only getting used to knowing a little more than the Doctor but the fact that he was now several adventures ahead of him made his head spin. This Doctor didn't even KNOW him yet. So, wasn't just meeting him messing up time? Unless the Doctor had hidden it from HIM when he'd returned? That would make sense but thinking about it too much made Rory's head hurt and he already had enough going on up there with the non-existent Roman!Rory's memories mucking about in his subconscious.

"Hello, Doctor. How was the trip to get

Oh, there he was. He'd recognize that nose anywhere. The Doctor waved as Rory drew near, grinning, pleased he'd been able to find the other without much in the way of fuss. He refused to let the relief show on his face, not wanting questions - he could explain the Master a bit once he got Rory and Jenny together on the TARDIS.

"Oh, you know," came the reply. "Nice. My poor fez got murdered, though." He pouted a bit, but it faded quickly enough; he could always buy a new fez. "How's it going, Rory?"

Rory was not at all surprised to find out that the fez had been murdered. Perhaps that was just the way it was meant to be...something that couldn't be changed. No matter what, the Doctor could NOT have a fez. The idea amused Rory, although he was certain that the circumstances behind its death were probably not as insane as the one Rory had witnessed.

"Good, I guess. It's been quiet as far as I can tell but I figured that wouldn't last long as soon as I met up with you again." To be honest, Rory was starting to get sick of the quiet anyway. This might seem strange, given that Rory is usually a big advocate of peace and quiet...but not this bad. Usually he'd at least have Amy around to spice things up for him. Even Rory could be driven to boredom it seemed and since Amy wasn't here, well, the Doctor was the next craziest thing (although the Doctor probably would have argued he was the first).

The Doctor, contrary to what Rory had thought about his fez, had quite enjoyed having one; they were cool. He'd have to find another one in the future. "Oh, don't worry," he reassure Rory, though he probably shouldn't have, "I'll definitely get another one in the future. Soon."

He raised an eyebrow. "Really? I've been getting into all sorts of trouble. Traveling around the world-inside-the-castle, finding new clothes, doing lots of running, other stuff, show tunes..." But he was rambling. Really, he needed to stop that. "Oh, don't worry. You'll get into lots of trouble with me. It's a hobby."

"I never doubted that," Rory replied. He wasn't sure he wanted it to be soon, but based on his own experience he knew all too well that the Doctor would get another fez. Rory just did not understand this man and his fashion choices.

Rory also didn't doubt that the Doctor would be getting into trouble. Along with supposedly snazzy attire he did seem to have a knack for doing the opposite of "safe." Then again, when you could travel through time and space why bother being safe? Oh yes, Rory had learned this the hard way but he wasn't going to tell the Doctor that, "I figured as much, that's not to say I've been doing absolutely nothing, though. I did meet the other Doctor after all and Rose." There was also the meeting with Xion and Simba which had been a nice change of pace.
