More often than not, Kairi found herself without something to do here in Paixao. While she had Sora and Riku here with her, and they did do things together, on a normal day to day basis she was actually kind of bored. So that's why she found herself just in range of Joutenheim Gate today, keeping a curious eye on who was coming into the city. She did have a habit of people watching ( ... )

Only a few minutes later, Basil had gotten through the gate, explained that Toby, in fact, was not speaking through his body as a puppet, and been handed a marvelously interesting-looking device whose purpose was, as of yet, unclear.

He was quickly greeted by the most amazing sight after Toby padded on through the gate. Every which way he looked, the plants were made of precious metals and rare stones--the kind often used for jewelry. The style of the buildings themselves resembled that of some of the older, yet well-developed European towns and cities. And not only the plants, and the architecture, but the humans--if you could call them that with such a peculiar sort of smell coming from them, nothing like the humans Basil was used to in London--why, they were all blond-haired and blue-eyed! And they all looked terribly alike, and seemed even to be the same age--or rather close to it anyway. Simply astounding! Remarkable, even!

"No, no, T-TOBY, STOP!" The hound had decided that a young woman dressed in very strange--and ( ... )

Kairi knelt down so the dog, who apparently was named Toby by what the mouse was shouting, could sniff her hand. She smiled warmly, moving her hand to pet him gently on the head. If he liked the way she smelled and he would allow her, of course. "Well hello," the red head said, laughing softly. The dog was cute, or at least she thought so.

"I'm sorry, I didn't... mean to distract him on you." Kairi looked up a bit now, offering another smile to Basil. It was difficult not to stare too curiously, as interested as she was, she didn't want to appear rude or to scare him off.

"Welcome to Paixao."

Toby was more than happy to sniff her hand, then tried to bury his nose in her palm so she'd be forced to pet him. That, of course, was before he'd realized that she was already going to pat him on the head, so when she moved to do that he just stood there contently, tail wagging happily back and forth.

"My apologies, Toby can be quite the frisky one sometimes." Basil looked up at the human girl, and couldn't help but notice the outstanding color of her hair. He'd never in a life seen a human with hair quite so red at that, it reminded him of an apple.

"But no harm done. Seems he likes you," he said, smiling. The smile turned to something of a sneer at her greeting though. "Yes...the man at the gate said something to that effect. Can you tel me what you know about this place?"

Awww, how sweet. Kairi just giggles again as she watches Toby's tail wag, continue to scritch the dog behind the ears and under the chin. "It's not problem, I love dogs." She had always wanted to own one, but it just never seemed like something she could do.

Finally she drew her attention away from the doggy long enough to start explaining. "Where should I even start?" She thought for a second, looking up to the intricate ceiling. "Well, the most important thing you have to know about this place is that it's not your home world. It's another one entirely."

She paused there. Sometimes that was enough to absorb right off the bat.
