Vanille heard Tifa talking to herself and she paused just out of sight. When she caught sight of the other woman, she tilted her head curiously. A new arrival? Definitely not someone she knew. But it seemed like she could use some help regardless.

Stepping out of the shadows, beaming, Vanille extended her hand.

"You're new, right? I'm Vanille."

She was probably quite a sight with her bright colors, bear pelt and Binding Rod.

At the sound of the girl's voice, Tifa blinked and looked up. She wasn't expecting such a friendly welcome given how quiet the other residents of the city had been when she had tried speaking with them. And Vanille certainly was a sight, definitely far more festive than anything Tifa was used to. Regardless, she was grateful for someone to talk to, so she took Vanille's extended hand and shook it.

"Easy to tell I just got here, huh? Nice to meet you, Vanille. Call me Tifa." She then gestured around the city with her other hand. "Think you could tell me exactly what's going on? Other than the name of this place, I'm a little lost."
