So much for lovely ladies, huh? blindearthgirl April 2 2011, 03:25:15 UTC
Toph was munching on a turkey leg she had gotten at Cafe Erestat and walking down a wide and busy street. She leaned against a wall and roughly tore at the meat that was still clinging to the bone, chewing noisily and feeling the weird native people of Paixao go about on their normal, boring business.

Ever since the adventure with Sokka and Suki, Toph didn't have much to do, except that spar with the human-rabbit viera. However, all good things must come to an end, and Toph was once again left without anything to do. She did feel someone else walking by though, definitely not a citizen by the way he felt. Toph ripped off another piece of turkey before bending the earth directly underneath where he was placing his foot. Something interesting was going to happen today, even if she had to make it happen.

With a surprised cry, Vyers went falling to the ground, landing sprawled in the grass and looking none-too-happy. Used to such falls-typically caused by other people-he recovered quickly and got to his feet, searching the area for the culprit. While his mind had been on other matters, Vyers was certain there hadn’t been anything in his path to cause him to fall before now. So far, however, his search yielded him nothing, and he only saw the citizens of Paixao walking past and a particularly ill-mannered young girl.

Toph frowned as she tossed the now bare turkey bone on the ground and licked her fingers in the noisiest way possible. These people were impossible to work with, even with a non-citizen making a fool of himself.

She walked up to the strange man. Maybe she could start something by berating the poor guy. "Wow. I've seen better coordination in turkey-ducks. You sure you don't need a cane?"

Vyers cringed, hearing the vile noises near him, and was about to yell at the give the girl a piece of his mind about her manners when she approached him on her own. There was a visible twitch just beneath Vyers' eye and he had to fight to keep his voice polite. "There is nothing wrong with my coordination," he ground out. "Someone tripped me."

Not that Vyers had any proof, but he was certain of this fact.

Sorry, but short tag is short. blindearthgirl April 15 2011, 20:20:10 UTC
"Tripped, huh? I didn't know these idiots could really do anything. What's a fancy-pants like you doin' here anyway? There's a lot of shady figures around you know." Toph wasn't just talking about the killer lions or the Organization she had heard about. She was also talking about herself.

"I am perfectly aware of that," Vyers replied in a huff, not realizing that the girl was including herself in that. Ill-mannered though she was, Vyers couldn't see her as being shady in any sense. "And I assure you, I have nothing to worry about."

"Right." Toph's voice was full of sarcasm. This guy didn't seem like he could throw a ball in the right direction let along defending himself.

"Where are you headed, Fancy-pants?" Yes, that was going to be Vyers nickname. Whether or not he decided to tell Toph his real name, she'd continue to call him by the name she chose.

Vyers attempted to hold in his irritation at the nickname, but some of it managed to show on his face. He supposed he should be glad that it was much less embarrassing than the names he usually seemed to acquire, but the fact he continued to acquire them at all was absolutely infuriating. "I am merely out for a walk," he replied. "I assume that is the case with you as well?"
