Priere was walking down the street, heading down to her usual place for lunch. She wasn't much for cooking herself and anyway, the food was practically free in the first place, so why not abuse it?

Walking along, she couldn't help but notice the odd demon on the opposite side of the street. Guess she was getting better with demons in a strange way, she didn't immediately reach out for her weapon as she would have back home if she would have met one in the same circumstances. Lucky him then.

Though, had she met him before? He did look familiar... oh well, he probably unimportant if she couldn't really remember him in the first place.

A glimpse of pink out of the corner of his eye quickly caught Vyers' attention, and as he turned his head to look, he realized two things: first, that this young woman looked a little familiar, and second, that she had managed to capture his heart. Before he could stop himself, he approached the young woman, a smile on his face, and summoned a rose to his hand.

"To find someone so lovely wandering the same street as I..." he began, his smile widening into a grin as he winked and offered her the rose. "For you."

Now, Priere was used to getting hit on by the perverted old men back home. Heck, it was practically a tradition that ended with many glares and the occasional well placed kick. This time? She didn't see it coming one bit.

"Beh..... huh?" Was pretty much the most intelligent thing that came out of her mouth as she was suddenly presented with a rose. That stupid demon and his flower totally blindsided her. "N-no thanks... I don't really need that."

Vyers' smile faltered a little bit, but he wasn't deterred, straightening himself up and pulling himself together. Was that a little too forward? It didn't seem like it was, but my did the young lady seem out of sorts. After a half second more of thought, Vyers suddenly looked surprised at himself. "Forgive my poor manners! Your beauty captivated me so, I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. I am Vyers, the Dark Adonis. Might I have your name?"

To say she was feeling social would have been a blatant lie of the most hilarious sort, but Meg needed to do something, anything, other than mope in her bar. She'd been scaring away what few customers would wander in. While not working was just as bad as scaring away money in the first place, anything was better than brooding over a certain bandanna-wearing musclehead. Or so she thought.

Walking along the twisting pathway of the park, Meg's thoughts darkened even more. So many blonde, blue-eyed couples strolling arm in arm, pointedly ignoring her. They simpered at each other, lovers in love with love. It was absolutely wretched.

So, frustrated at her own inability to stop feeling sorry for herself, she went off the beaten path and wove her way through one of the few, lightly wooded areas of the city. Maybe it would have been better to stay at home and mope...

While Meg looked upon the lovers with disdain, Vyers looked upon them with interest. There was something about the sight that made his heart soar, perhaps the rarity of seeing such a wondrous event in the Netherworld. But, at the same time, the demon couldn't help but feel some sense of jealousy toward the men. How lucky they were to walk arm-in-arm with those women! He could easily see himself in the same position. Yes, he was a much better fit.

He stared ahead, dreamy-eyed, from his spot on a bench, his mind filled with images of walking hand in hand down the streets of Paixao with the young women he had seen in the arms of another, until he suddenly caught sight of a woman walking alone. Her anger completely escaped Vyers at first, too caught up was he in the way her dress fell across her figure and her hair fell past her shoulders, but as he laid eyes on her face, he finally noticed her expression and he frowned.

In moments he was by the woman's side. "That expression does not suit such a lovely face."

Meg nearly stumbled in surprise at the sudden appearance of one of the most feminine looking men she'd ever seen. In fact, she was pretty sure his waist was almost as skinny as hers. And did he have pointy ears? Great, she inwardly sighed. In this place, who knew what he could be?

"Thanks, I'll keep that under consideration," she said flatly, resuming her pace without a second glance.

Vyers continued to match her pace, a large grin spreading across his face. "Yes, a smile would suit you far better. I shall ensure that one graces those delicate lips," he said, cheerfully but with conviction. He chuckled to himself afterward. "Do not attempt to convince me otherwise. I have already decided."

Terra was gathering some supplies. She was hoping to find a place to settle in soon, and so stocking the shelves of her new home seemed important. Shopping was relatively easy in Paixao as it was, since the locals seemed to accept just about anything as payment... At first it obviously seemed strange, but after awhile, the fact that there were even shops to serve them was helpful.

She carried her belongings closely to her as she exited one shop, failing to look where she was going in the process of checking her package... "Oh, I'm sorry," she apologized, feeling someone brush past her suddenly.

"There is nothing to be sorry for," Vyers replied, stepping back and turning toward the young lady with a smile. "Allow me to help you with that." It didn't look like the young woman was having any trouble with the package, but how impolite it would be to not even bother to offer.

As she focused on the man in front of her, she blinked for a moment. He certainly wasn't a native to Paixao. In fact, he didn't look entirely human either... she spaced out for a moment as she thought about it, brought back into reality as he offered his help.

"Oh. That's -- you don't have to do that. I can probably manage just fine..."

The pause was rather odd, but Vyers attributed it to the girl being captivated by his very presence. He shook his head and held up a hand with a playful wink. "Now, now, I insist!" he exclaimed. "I could not bear to leave a lady without aid."

So much for lovely ladies, huh? blindearthgirl April 2 2011, 03:25:15 UTC
Toph was munching on a turkey leg she had gotten at Cafe Erestat and walking down a wide and busy street. She leaned against a wall and roughly tore at the meat that was still clinging to the bone, chewing noisily and feeling the weird native people of Paixao go about on their normal, boring business.

Ever since the adventure with Sokka and Suki, Toph didn't have much to do, except that spar with the human-rabbit viera. However, all good things must come to an end, and Toph was once again left without anything to do. She did feel someone else walking by though, definitely not a citizen by the way he felt. Toph ripped off another piece of turkey before bending the earth directly underneath where he was placing his foot. Something interesting was going to happen today, even if she had to make it happen.

With a surprised cry, Vyers went falling to the ground, landing sprawled in the grass and looking none-too-happy. Used to such falls-typically caused by other people-he recovered quickly and got to his feet, searching the area for the culprit. While his mind had been on other matters, Vyers was certain there hadn’t been anything in his path to cause him to fall before now. So far, however, his search yielded him nothing, and he only saw the citizens of Paixao walking past and a particularly ill-mannered young girl.

Toph frowned as she tossed the now bare turkey bone on the ground and licked her fingers in the noisiest way possible. These people were impossible to work with, even with a non-citizen making a fool of himself.

She walked up to the strange man. Maybe she could start something by berating the poor guy. "Wow. I've seen better coordination in turkey-ducks. You sure you don't need a cane?"

Vyers cringed, hearing the vile noises near him, and was about to yell at the give the girl a piece of his mind about her manners when she approached him on her own. There was a visible twitch just beneath Vyers' eye and he had to fight to keep his voice polite. "There is nothing wrong with my coordination," he ground out. "Someone tripped me."

Not that Vyers had any proof, but he was certain of this fact.
