Why. Why. Just... WHY. Why did that girl have to force him into this damn coat?! He already had a coat, and he didn't even need to put that one on! What part of "demons aren't affected by the cold" didn't she understand?! Ugh... He looked stupid, didn't he? He did. No one was just going to say it to his face.

Mao lagged behind the others, shuffling his feet through the snow and scowling at everything and everyone. He wasn't really thinking about the coat as much anymore, though. He hadn't been for awhile. He was still annoyed about it, sure, but... It was more that it was something to think about other than everything that was wrong with this place ( ... )

If it hadn't been for the coat, Yorda would be freezing. She never dressed for any weather but sunny (and given that her wardrobe consisted of a single, simple dress, she couldn't anyway). It was kind of the woman at the agency to give her boots, though her feet cramped inside them, unused to the feeling of being confined. The princess didn't complain, however, merely pulling the hood over her head with gloved hands (those were strange, too, but as they kept her warm, she didn't mind) and pressing on ( ... )
