If this was how elections usually proceeded around here, Zexion couldn't say he approved. Last-minute additions to a campaign were fine (and he'd rather expected that one of the natives would speak up) but this attempt at swaying the voters at the last minute? Wholly deplorable. Democracy was meant to be a fair system, or as fair as things ever could be when politicians were involved. But if the city intended to cling to its faulty system he wouldn't complain. He was her to vote - or rather, 'Ian' was and as always he looked the part. Simple clothes, no cloak, and an illusion of mid-length brown hair pulled back into a ponytail to cover his own unique hair style.

Simple enough, and if he ignored any attempts to change his mind, perhaps that was only to expected. The hopefuls could hardly expect everyone to give them the time of day. He would vote for no less than the person he had decided on already; namely the one option he thought would actually make a decent mayor. He hadn't had any orders not to, after all.

Even before his arrival, there was a lot Timon had wondered about regarding the elections. He had never been to one before, the ‘leader types’ at home usually descendants of previous leaders or abusers of force to ‘earn’ such a position. Was it normal for those running to appear? He was doubtful that the other candidates would be making appearance after what the Master had told him, that including the infamous Marcus Praetoris who had seemingly appeared from nowhere, but as far as he was concerned it was their loss. This was the perfect opportunity to persuade voters and sway their vote. They were stupid for not taking advantage of that. They could have even debated live outside the temporary offices but for reasons everyone could have probably agreed on was that their noted absents was probably for the best, incredibly so for Timon ( ... )

Vyers let out a heavy sigh, following after Timon and watching citizens and visitors alike file into the voting booths. While the meerkat did seem to be the best choice out of all the potential mayors, the demon had good reason to worry about Timon's public relations. Vyers had had the feeling that it would be better to follow Timon and make sure he didn't do anything to ruin his chances at a vote.

Meanwhile, he began to turn various speeches over in his head, trying to piece together something of his own. Something of enough power, of enough elegance to touch the hearts of those coming to vote.

"Mm... Perhaps you should begin by saying what you plan to change?" he suggested. "Make it a powerful statement. One that will pull their attention to you!" Timon already had the voice and the volume for it, so that wouldn't need any help.

He turned his attention back to Vyers and raised a brow at the demons suggestion. Hm, it looked as though Vyers was actually making himself useful for once. Timon shared a small grin with him, notably taken a liking to the idea. Whether or not anything the demon said would be actually helpful had yet to be decided but at least he was trying to be of some assistance. The meerkat rubbed his chin in thought while he reflected on the demon’s words. “Somethin’ that’ll pull their attention to me, hu?” he repeated. With a snap of his ‘fingers’ he jumped out of his serious state, a wide smile across his face. “That’s it, I got it!”

“Citizens of Paixao, you are all in serious danger!” he shouted.

Suddenly finding far more eyes than he had ever expected on him, Timon realized that may have been a little too powerful a statement… Vyers had said to use something that would really get their attention though and that he had done well, too well. Surprised by the response he had received, he stood in place, struggling to think of what to say next ( ... )

Ah, wonderful! Timon was actually going to follow his advice for once. It was a welcome change and Vyers couldn't help the proud, if not smug, look that appeared on his face ( ... )

Urd had come early to vote, wanting to avoid the crowds. Usually, she loved the hustle and bustle, considering large groups of people an audience just waiting to be entertained and stunned by her beauty, but in this form...well, she wasn't insecure. She just didn't feel like talking to people ( ... )

Not that I'd really have to. That was The Master's reaction to Timon asking him whether or not he would show to the offices holding the election in Paixao. He was so sure of his victory in the election, or at least that's what he wished to display to others before the mysterious Marcus Praetoris had arrived on the scene. Now, the worry that had crossed his face was unsettling and it showed to everyone that was bothering to know him.

Although he had planned to sit alone on the rooftops, having used his power to leap from ceiling to ceiling, he was still pleasantly surprised to see Urd finding respite on the roof.

"My last election was a landslide. Actually, every election I've ever been in has been a landslide," The Master said quietly, hoping not to scare her away. "This one...might be a little harder."

She felt his presence before he spoke, subtle tension coiled in her despite the outward appearance of casual indifference. Urd didn't think he'd attack her, but the last thing she wanted to deal with was him remarking on her new appearance. But when he spoke, she relaxed slightly -- like her, he had more important things on his mind.

"It was stacked against us to begin with," she replied without turning around to face him, her gaze still on the blonde heads coursing in and out of the building below. She frowned with irritation. "I should have known better. Even if Praetoris hadn't joined the race, the city would never have let people like us have power. It's not how this place works."

Laughing a mirthless, dry laugh, she brought one knee up to her chest. "Or maybe they're all voting for one of us. Miracles can happen, right?"

"Are you so sure? I've been known to change minds with quite a lot of ease before," The Master rebutted, knowing his pleas would fall on Urd's ears that had been deafened either by the sadness of the visitors' campaign or the loudness of Timon's own persistence in the streets. "Little guy hasn't gotten through his head yet, eh? I know how it can feel, dealing with denial. How do you manage?" he asked sincerely with hungry eyes ( ... )

Of course, it was in Shantotto's interest to go to the office to watch just how the vote would go.

Admittedly, she didn't really think she would actually win, but she had managed to cause a bit of a stir. That was something at least. Still, it was a shame. None of the others were half as qualified as she was, really. Of course, no one wanted to believe that. And Shantotto hated to lose, even if she hadn't really expected to in the first place.

Oh well, it was rather out of her hands, wasn't it?
