Neirenn rubbed a hand up and down her arm as she walked through Paixao. Things seemed so much... the same. Well, what had she been expecting? Some drastic change? The domes to be gone? It wasn't as though she'd been expecting Aydensfell to be different when she had found herself back there.

The point being, she supposed, that she hadn't been expecting either thing at all. Neirenn's walk to reacquaint herself with this odd city had been somewhat reassuring, though... after what one person had said about people who returned here not remembering their stay, she wanted to make sure that she did still know her way around.

When she spotted a woman near the gates who was clearly not one of the natives, Neirenn paused and then headed over. "Did you just arrive here?" she asked.

Tear glanced up from the device as soon as she heard herself being addressed. It hadn't taken long to note that there was something off about a vast number of the city's people.

They all looked the same, true, and this wouldn't have been much cause for concern, except Tear had never seen so many blond-haired, blue-eyed people in one place before, and none of them were elderly. Still, that wasn't the part that bothered her the most. It was their behavior; she couldn't pin it down, but something wasn't quite right. Were they...? No. She thought not.

The girl who approached now, however, seemed different. Tear's first instinct was caution, although she saw no reason to lie.

"Yes, it would appear so. Is there some sort of a problem?"

Neirenn raised her eyebrows a little at that. Being suddenly here was what most people would probably think of as a problem... on the other hand she clearly wasn't panicking. Probably she was simply trying to get her bearings in this place. Well... Neirenn didn't know the woman, but it probably wouldn't hurt to help her out a little. And maybe she could find out something about wherever she was from, too.

"Well, no, unless you want to look for one," she said. "But you seem like you're handling it pretty well... my name is Neirenn. If you'd like, I can tell you a little about this place."

"Panicking only helps to complicate matters," she replied by way of explanation.

Good to know she still appeared somewhat calm. Inwardly, the melodist was growing rather concerned simply because no believable explanation for her sudden appearance here was presenting itself. Could she no longer be in Auldrant? That didn't seem possible. The past? The future? Had Lorelei done something? She couldn't see why it would, at least not without telling her about it beforehand.

With a sigh, she continued, "And I'd prefer not seek out any more problems, at least not until I have a better awareness of what's going on."

Neirenn's words suggested that she was familiar with this place, and any information seemed better than nothing at all. Tear withheld a name, but offered a slight smile to the other girl.

"It's nice to meet you. I would be extremely grateful for any information you may have about this city. I was specifically wondering about modes of transportation. It's imperative that I return to Daath as soon as possible."

Well, this woman seemed to be very level-headed at least. Though Neirenn hadn't met very many people in Paixao who seemed disposed to panic or flailing, apart from that parrot she and Lei'ella had met while the darkness had still been covering the city.

She didn't miss the woman's choice to give her own name--after a split second of consideration Neirenn decided to let it be for the moment. "If Daath is the name of your home, I'm afraid you won't be able to leave her as easily as that. I've already tried a portal spell to leave Paixao, but there's some sort of magical barrier that bounces you back." She'd learned that the hard way. Very unpleasant. "This city is on an island, and there don't seem to be any boats running anywhere. There aren't any docks, at least, although I suppose there could be ships I don't know about. But if you want to get from one place to another inside the domes, there are trains here."

Maybe it was a bit too much information at once, but Neirenn always seemed to get talkative when meeting a new person.
