Character(s): Cid, Vincent, and Lara Content: Friends getting together for a little talk Setting: Cid's shop Time: Shortly after this thread Warnings: Cid.
Trains had always been uncomfortable to ride in, but he managed somehow, making his way to the desired location fairly quickly and into the part of town where Cid had been waiting. There were things had needed to be discussed, explained to him, and he'd allowed someone to accompany him to his friend's place. This woman claimed to have known just about everything there was to know about this city, and he knew straight from the get-go that Cid wouldn't be much help in that department. A couple swears, unprovoked anger, and something about tea.
Sometimes, he had the strangest friends.
The front door opened slightly, the Ex-Turk's crimson gaze trailing around the room for any sign of the mechanic. If he knew Cid as well as he did, he wouldn't have gotten too far. The man was impatient, sure, but he doubted he'd leave when he knew of his arrival. Making sure to hold the door open for Lara, he called out.
Lara had arrived at Cid's shop before Vincent, her guns strapped to her thighs, ready for adventure as always. She'd never been to this shop, nor met its owner - although she'd meant to drop by in the past. She simply hadn't had the time, in between researching the city and paying close attention to events that unfolded over the journals.
When the red-eyed man opened the door for her, she smiled in thanks and stepped inside. "Vincent Valentine, I presume," she said as she walked inside, then turned back to look at him, waiting for Cid to respond.
True, Cid might not have been the most helpful of people, even without his tendencies to copious swearing and general surliness. But he had been in the city for longer than he really cared to think about and you didn't stick around in a city like this without picking a few things up.
Whether or not he'd have the answer to whatever questions crossed Vincent's mind was something yet to be seen, but hell. He'd give it his best and that was all there was to it.
Although Vincent could certainly have timed his arrival better. It wasn't his fault he'd gotten bored and wandered off to work more on his ongoing projects. Well. Okay, technically it was, but like hell was he going to mention.
"Just a moment," he hollered back, putting down the screwdriver and wiping his hands off on the nearest mostly-clean surface (in this case, the jacket tied around his waist). A few more grease stains wouldn't hurt it. Much. And with that taken care of, he wandered back out into the main area of the shop.

Vincent nodded solemnly, not opting to speak more than he needed to. There was the off-chance he would wind up revealing too much to a semi-complete stranger, and he wasn't about to take that kind of risk. Call it paranoia, or simply using his head, Vincent Valentine wasn't a trusting idiot. But he still remained polite, expression devoid of any suspicion or uneasiness as crimson eyes trailed up at the sound of someone approaching.
Cid, who didn't remember the whole Deepground situation, or Omega, or... anything, really. Perhaps upon the Weapon's defeat, the memories of those who'd encountered it were erased, to prevent it from happening again. And he'd only been preserved because of Chaos. But still... it didn't seem quite right. Something was very off about this entire thing...
"...good to see you, old friend." He added quietly, before nodding to the woman at his side. "Lara. Though I'm not sure if you've met. You both know more about this place than I do."

Lara understood Vincent perfectly. While she was friendly to people, it didn't mean she'd just tell them her whole life story. After all, it had taken Zip and Alister quite some time (a few years), and even then, they'd only learned because of the camera set and Lara's own confessions of her past. She smiled at Cid and Vincent, nodding politely at the apparent owner of the shop.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," she greeted, but said no more for the moment; she'd allow the two men to get to the basics before that. She was here for input, true, but she wasn't about to go butting into anyone else's business where she wasn't needed. She'd read up on both of them over the journals, of course; and it seemed they were quite capable, which was good in a place like this (or, indeed, any place). And maybe Cid knew as much of the Organization and the goings-n in the city as she did - or more. One never knew.
