"Oh?" Urd turned slightly, gaze roaming the city once more. Her eyes drifted closed and, though there was no breeze in the slightest, her hair stirred from some invisible force. Abruptly, her hair dropped again and she shifted her weight, glancing sidelong at the woman. "I'm going to guess this isn't the first time you've come across something out of the ordinary?"

She could sense amazing levels of power through out the city, signatures of beings she'd never even heard of, much less experienced. So it seemed there was more to this place than strange decorating and meek mortals.

Lara watched the stranger without so much as batting an eye this time; oddly enough, she had almost expected the woman to do something like that. Maybe it was her own experiences within the city talking, but she had learned years ago to follow her instincts and expect the unexpected. Which, in turn, made the unexpected the expected, so it really wasn't so bad.

"No, I'm afraid not," Lara replied, smiling. "And who are you, if I may ask?"

The fact that this woman was reacting completely different from those she came across in line intrigued Urd. Most mortals -- female or male, adult or child -- were generally instinctually awed by Urd and her kind. Was power like Urd's that common here? The fact that something had pulled her here in the first place painted a worrisome picture.

"My name is Urd," she replied, her smile lacking artifice now, but genuine friendliness. "As I'm sure you noticed, I'm...new."

That got a reaction. "Urd?" Lara asked, surprised overtaking her features for a few moments before she composed herself. "The goddess of Norse mythology?" Lara may have been mundane, in a sense, but she wasn't stupid, especially when it came to her forte. And this wouldn't be the first time she'd met a god (after Set, she had thought that nothing would ever surprise her again - she had, of course, been wrong).

"My name is Lara Croft," she continued, nodding to the woman. "I've been here for a while, myself."

Oh...that. Urd and her sisters had done a repair in the third dimension long ago, closing a reality tear that had somehow occurred in the middle ages of the human world. After a job well done, she decided to hang around and drink with the locals. She eventually talked more than she should have, because she and her sisters became legend and Urd's favorite past time of drinking booze became an ironic religious rite.

"Ah, yes. That would be me," she said, not disguising the wry note in her voice. She posed slightly, one arm behind her head, hip jutted to one side. "I bet I look younger than you expected?"
