Lara raised one slim eyebrow, mulling this latest bit of information over. So teleportation existed here? "That's odd," she murmured, her gaze drifting downward for a few moments. It's highly unlikely, the adventurer thought to herself, but at least it's worth a shot. Looking back up to her companion, Lara asked, "There wouldn't happen to be an ornate stone dais of any kind around here that you know of, would there?" If only she had Excalibur with her, perhaps there was a way to reach Avalon from here. She wouldn't give up, not ever, and she wouldn't stop until she found her mother. Usually Lara would never think of revealing her purposes - and she still wouldn't - but she saw no harm in asking.

Her eyes narrowed and she got back to the subject. "There are certainly a lot of uses for such an ability," she replied. "I suppose they've been taking full advantage of it?"

"Oh yes, I'd say they are," he replied, grimly. If they were all using these portals as the time-stopping one had, then there was little doubt that they were indeed using them to their full advantage. Being able to get around like that gave them quite an edge.

"As for stone dais... No, I can't say I've any," the Doctor replied, obviously wondering why she would be asking about something like that. Although the architecture of this place certainly leant itself to such things, he couldn't say he'd seen any.

Lara made an acknowledging sound, absorbing this information. She tried to recall myths of creatures who could do that, but she could recall nothing at the moment. Easily solved; the archaeologist would simply have to go to the library and search for as long as she had to. She frowned slightly at the revelation regarding the distinct lack of daises in the area, but it was only to be expected.

"I see," she replied, "thank you."

The Doctor, while tempted to fish for more information, remained silent. He somehow had the feeling it was something she wouldn't be in a hurry to give, as no explanation had been provided at all when she asked.

Instead he simply nodded, eyes falling to the table and his mood seemed to suddely bright as he realized something. The tea. He had completely forgotten about it. "Oh, right! The tea! Good and steeped now, I'd say," he said, reaching for the pot, and set about pooring two cups. "Got a bit distracted there, sorry about that."

The Doctor's thoughts were indeed right; Lara, despite her own habit for fishing mercilessly for information she needed, was never exactly forthcoming about her own past. As far as she was concerned, in fact, the archaeologist was fully prepared to leave it behind once she'd solved her own mysteries.

Lara laughed. "Yes," she teased good-naturedly, "I'm sure it's ready." The Englishwoman smiled and nodded. "It's quite all right," she replied. "I've been rather absorbed in our conversation, myself."
