Lara enjoyed tea of all kinds; many a time had she been researching in between traveling the world with a nice cup of it on her desk. Since coming to Paixao not very long ago, she hadn't had much time to have any between settling in and exploring the city to relax. Now, of course, she was glad to have a chance for a nice chat with someone she had found, thus far, to be rather interesting.

Add that in with the fact that they could perhaps uncover a few of the mysteries of this place, and you had a rather pleased Englishwoman indeed. It was in this cheerful state that the archaeologist headed to the cafe in question, having taken the train. Her pistols were, as usual, strapped to her thighs, and she had the rest her gear on, as well - judging by the claw marks in the church floor, it was best that she came fully prepared for any conflicts that might spring up.

The woman strode confidently to the cafe and approached what appeared to be a British man, smiling. "Excuse me," she began, "am I correct in assuming you're the Doctor?"

His head jerked up as he suddenly realized there was someone before him. Flipping the journal quickly closed, he set it on the table and then plucked his glasses from his nose. Sitting up straight, he looked up at the confident woman and proceeded to grin widely. There was no doubt to the Doctor this was who he'd been waiting for.

"That's right," the Doctor replied, brightly. "And I suppose I'd be correct in assuming you're Lara?"

Lara nodded, taking a seat across from the man. "That's correct," she responded. "It's lovely to meet you," she continued, offering her hand for the Doctor to shake. He looked to be a pleasant man, and Lara found herself wondering if he had any experience with the sort of expedition they were going to go on. On the other hand, she thought, underestimation is never a good thing. Lara had, after all, come into contact with many dangerous folk who seemed perfectly harmless to begin with.

"Are you enjoying the city so far?" she inquired politely, figuring that she should at least take a stab at conversation.

He didn't notice it right away, but soon as he did, he shook her hand. "Good to meet you," he replied.

It wasn't too often the Doctor was able to just sit down and meet someone like this. Meetings tended to involve excitement. Aliens. Monsters. Running. That was a big one. There was always something. And even the times all did seem calm, it rarely lasted.

Of course, not that he was complaining. He wasn't complaining in the least. He just hoped he hadn't just jinxed himself or something, not that he really believed in that or anything. but he still hoped it would remain this... pleasant.

"I don't know about enjoying, but there's certainly been no lack of excitement," the Doctor said, thinking of all that had happened so far.

Lara, for one, was rather enjoying the city, aside from the fact that it was keeping her from her goal of finding her mother. She thrived on new experiences, and was at her best when overcoming obstacles - that was, in fact, one of the reasons as to why she had been so successful in her excursions.

Lara did, of course, notice the tea, but she delayed pouring some for the two of them in favor of the topic. "Quite," she responded. "There does seem to be quite a lot going on, especially with Maleficent and her associates." Even so, the witch didn't seem to be doing much so far, and Lara wondered if she was simply biding her time - a thought that seemed likely, considering the wall of thorns around City Hall.
