Ivan stared awkwardly for a second when she didn't answer. Was something - oh. Did she not recognize him? They'd only spoken briefly, after all. "It's me, Ivan," he said. "We spoke earlier, remember?"

Yorda stared for a few more moments, absently petting the djinn, before smiling brightly at Ivan. "Oh," she replied, "yes. I remember. On the... phone?" Was that what the strange little box she was handed earlier was? The man she had spoken to over it had never answered.

"Thank you for your help," she replied, indicating the djinn. "I do not know what this is, but it is interesting." And cute, and Yorda was thinking of keeping it with her. She didn't entirely like being alone in this place.

Ah. Yes. That.

"Oh, that- that's called a Djinn," he explained, stepping closer, but he caught himself before the impulse to reach for it went through. He couldn't just snatch it from her, after all, and he kicked himself a little for nearly trying. "It's, um, it's mine, actually," he said instead.

At Ivan's words, Yorda smiled guilelessly, holding the djinn out for Ivan to take. "A Djinn," she said simply, trying out the word. It sounded strange to her; foreign, and yet she liked it. Yorda wondered if there were any about which didn't have an owner.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a small, stabbing feeling in her gut, followed by a loud growl emanating from her stomach. Yorda blinked and looked downward, a puzzled look on her face.

Grateful, Ivan accepted the Djinn, holding it tight in one arm so it couldn't run away. Fortunately, it didn't seem to have any interest in doing so. It'd be easier just to absorb it, of course, but after the way Flonne had freaked out seeing him do that, he'd rather not inflict the same on Yorda. "That's right," he said, nodding.

He had to smile at the growling stomach, though. "Say, do you want something to eat? It's the least I can do for your help." And they were in a food market already, so she'd have no shortage of options.
