"But then," he added, after a moment's thought, "I've never believed in the Other Side either -- and here we are! Or there we were." He abruptly looked confused. "I can't remember which."
And then he thought he had a way to remember. Brightly, he asked, "You're not from the OZ, are you?"

"I didn't before I met the Doctor." She said. "But then, I decided that maybe I should believe." And travel with him. She mentally added.
"And no, I'm not from the 'Oz.' I'm from Chiswick."

Regardless of whether it counted or not, Glitch looked suddenly very sheepish. "I'm sorry. Just a small, er, glitch, hee." There was something slightly off about his laugh -- a little forced, as though something was not quite right with his mind.
It dawned on Glitch that he was speaking to a stranger -- at least, someone who could be a stranger. She could also be a good friend -- or an acquaintance. "Er..." There just never was a way to put this delicately. "Have we met?"

"I don't think so." She said, placing her hands in her pockets. "Name's Donna, you are?" She was fine with giving him her first name, but she'd keep her last name to herself for now.

"Oh, excuse me!" he muttered, properly abashed, as he took a minute to close it completely.
"Are you new here, Donna?" It was a polite enough question. "I've been here for ages myself -- or a few days. I can never seem to remember which."

"Yes, I am." She replied. "I just got here." And was somewhat chased in... Although the glowing white creatures hadn't followed her into the domes, just stared after her.
"I should ask...have you seen a man in a brown trench coat around? He looks like a human beanpole, he's so skinny...Answers to 'Doctor?'"

Now that his zipper problem was straightened out, he seemed to be much better.
"The Doctor, the Doctor... I wonder why that sounds familiar?" As usual when trying to remember information, he was at a loss.
"I guess you'll find him if he's here -- a beanpole, you say?" The man looked thoughtful, as though he were imagining a lively beanpole wearing a trenchcoat. "Say, where ya headed, Doll?" He grinned broadly -- it was friendly enough, if somehow childish. "I'll escort ya!"
Reply
"Yeah, tall, skinny, wearing brown. It's a strange likeness." She sighed. "As for where I'm going, I have no idea. I don't even know where to start to look for anyone."

"I'd be happy to escort ya, Doll!" And while she was no doubt still deciding whether it was safe to take his arm or not, he suddenly danced away, journal in hand. "Okay, now, according to this..." The map flickered. "...Where did you want to go?"
He peered at her expectantly from above the screen, poised and waiting.

"Here, let me see." She held out her hand to take a glance at the journal. "Or, better yet, show me that on mine?"
Reply
"Ah-hah! There it is!" Triumphantly, Glitch gestured to the output. "We're here -- you can navigate the map using these, search for desired locations -- it's really a neat little device. See, our position is transfixed on the map, likely by the use of a directional location beam grounded in th--" It was all coming so fast, a scientific observation of genius...and then...
"Oh! A cafe!" Indeed, the map had settled on the nearest cafe to the gate. "Gosh, I do feel like pie... Think maybe they have some?"

Her attention was diverted towards him as he seemed to have a flash of inspiration...something different from how he had been before. But as quickly as it came, it seemed to leave.
"So, it's kind of like a GPS, hmm?" She asked. "And, lets go." She was a bit more cheerful now, she at least had someone to talk to.
