Content: Donna finds herself on another world, and while not incredibly surprised, is startled by a lack of a Doctor and a TARDIS.
Setting: Joutenheim Gate and surrounding area.

The first thing she noticed was grass surrounding her, not cement and English buildings )

He gave her long enough to open her mouth -- and then he promptly interrupted.
"No, no! Let me think! Let's see... G-P-S."
And he started to think as they walked.
"Great Pestering Soundbox?" It could be that. Or... "Gamblers Precious Sapphires?" That one made him pause. "Wait. No. No, not that at all." It made no sense, for one thing!
"I didn't like the word journal," he added, "I wanted to call it a long-distance voice transporter hearing device -- but nobody liked it much!"

"Hmm, that one is a bit long." She tapped her chin. "Anything you can shorten it to?" She was willing to play along for a while.

His smile was also encouraging. "You try -- just make something up! About anything!" He was clearly a big fan of word games, despite his sporadic memory lapses and leaps of logic.

"Make something up, about anything?" Sure, she was stating the obvious, but it was a bit weird to her. It was like, creating a small language with words already created for you.

Walking along, Glitch reached up, pulling a few leaves from the branches. The shone in his pale hands.
"Something about these! Like..." Here he sucked in a breath as he thought. "Uh..." He scrunched up his face in thought, scratching the back of his head. "LUC." (Pronounced LUCK.) "Look Up for Cash." And he beamed that childish, slightly disturbing grin again.

"So, that..." She said, pointing up at the top of the dome. "Could someone call it a skydome?"

And why shouldn't they make up their own names for things? It isn't like things were LABELED.
"I'd say it's got a ring to it -- whatcha think? Skydome! Dome in the sky! Dome *of* the sky -- skydome!" He was prattling...
"Course, if you're gonna name things, you'd better expect some criticism -- some people think *their* names are the only right ones!" Tsk! Where was the imagination? "Seems boring to me..."

The man at the gate barely caught him, desperately waving out the journal and pamphlet, which should have been more or an interest to Cain than it was, but he thought he saw something in the distance, and the last thing he needed was to lose it. "Your name, sir, please!" the guard asked, sounding frustrated.
"Cain," he answered quickly, if only to get the man off him. Journal and pamphlet in hand, he slid in without another thought. That prattling was indeed familiar, although the woman wasn't, but at quick inspection she didn't seem threatening. Keeping careful of ( ... )
