Karst was thoroughly ticked.

She'd spent a long time traveling here after arranging to meet with Li, and she did not see a person wearing predominantly green, especially among those who weren't native. It was enough to make her want to burn or maim someone or something, but she'd given her word.

He doesn't have to know, insisted a little voice in the back of her mind. Ivan wasn't as omniscient as she'd thought he was, he couldn't read minds from a distance, couldn't know the details in a city as large as this. She'd heard from the locals about foreigners setting much larger explosions in the area, a single Blast would go practically unnoticed. Her need for violence could be sated.

No, it couldn't. She could get away with it once, but then she would want to do it again. And again. Psynergy could be an addicting thing when used, abused, so was combat, and in this city Karst wanted to keep a low profile unless-- until Isaac showed his face in Paixao. Bad enough that she looked different and carried a weapon and therefore drew the eyes ( ... )

Wandering around, both by air and by land had proved little, other than the sheer distances of the city's layout. It also did nothing to help the contemplation on WHERE the hell the city's alignment was. This end of town was not as flashy as Muspelheim's had been. Though she'd known that earlier, wandering through Vanaheim ( ... )

Sephiroth watched the redhead's lack of progress against the guards with interest. She was only the second person to have tried today, and the reaction had been the same both times. A curious occurrence. Maybe the mayor would be able to tell him more about why everyone was so insistent that no one leave the city.

The girl caught his eye more fully as she turned away. She couldn't have been more than 14, yet the clothes she wore (or almost didn't, it all depends on your perspective) and the weapon she carried suggested otherwise. Curious.

"It won't do you any good to try to get through that gate," he said conversationally. "They won't even let me through." It was a bold statement, made carelessly by someone who was used to having the rank and fame to make it openly. Sephiroth did not make careless statements like that often. It was... unbecoming. But things, once said, cannot be unsaid, so he let it stand.

"One would think a seasoned warrior would know what to do outside city limits," Karst answered, mocking the gatekeepers gently, not quite noticing the man's careless comment. She did notice the man himself, his stature-- most of Paixao's citizens were shorter than she was, and this man was taller-- his hair, a frosty white with a silvery lustre, and his attire, black leather and white shoulder armor, catching her eye.

She also registered the man sizing her up, his eyes lingering on her bared midriff a moment, and her scythe a moment longer. No harm in letting him look, she told herself, allowing her gaze to hold his for longer than strangers would normally allow eye contact with one another-- an aggressive act that typically upset Southerners and Paixaoans alike.

"Then it would seem we're stuck here," she added more seriously. "Unless we wish to... force the issue."

The winged goddess glanced up, overhearing the discussion. "I doubt there's much worth looking for outside the gates. If we're stuck here...I'd assume our captors are as well."

She'd been looking over the messageboard and the mayor's posts. The mayor had apparently been 'away' for a month and away for minimal amounts of weeks between his posts and now he'd disappeared again. No serious mayor would leave his city unattended for these ridiculous amounts of time.

No creator ever left their creations unattended in some way. It created an odd juxtaposition to her own world, if this world did so...Although there was his response to the comment made by the woman her brother was attempting to get friendly with and most everyone else seemed to detest. In fact, it seemed to connect him to her. It was a statement that irked her.

"I think we will find more reasonable work by planning something within the domes than without."
