Well, to be honest, he wasn't thinking about much, as usual. Maybe a random thought here or there about the city and the retarded citizens and whether Mello ever got hot in all that black, but he was mostly musing over how big the explosions would be.

He preferred to go with the flow of the events, which was sort of why he liked sticking around Mello; all sorts of interesting shit happened without him having to lift a finger. Where else did you get to blow random things up?

"Ready as I'll ever be." As he tapped out the ash from his cigarette, he smirked at the irony of walking around with a bag of explosives in one hand with no one to stop him. This city was so fucked up, in that aspect. What if they didn't even notice a fucking fireball going up in the middle of their city? Now that worried him. All that work for being for nothing would give him a fine thing to grumble about.

Nodding at his target a few blocks away, he grinned. "Should I go set up? Get ready for the big bang?"

"Yeah, let's go." Mello was looking forward to it. You'd think after last time he'd have lost his taste for explosions, but he hadn't. Nothing like a big bang followed by bright fire and destruction to get rid of the taste of boredom that seemed to permeate everything here, like nothing changed and never would ( ... )

"That goes there, the blue wire connects here..." Matt had the tendency to talk to himself while he worked, though the words came out muffled from the cigarette held in his lips. He didn't even bother to glance at the citizens milling about; after all, if they hadn't batted an eyelash when he pulled the mass of wires and packets from the bag, he doubted they'd pay attention to him now ( ... )

Good, there was Matt coming back. Mello felt relieved, though he knew it was stupid. Maybe eventually he'd get over it, forget what it had been like to see Matt die, to know that it had been his fault, but that day wasn't today. It was still too recent, too fresh in his mind. Another nightmare he couldn't shake, to add to the ones he already had ( ... )

"Bets? Hmm..." Matt took a long look at the surroundings. It was astonishing, really, how little attention people were paying to them. A sideways glance, maybe, at best. Most people just ignored them, and the strangely-shaped masses attached to the fountains. Either, they were incredibly dense, or even more apathetic than he was. A new achievement in the art of "whatever."

"I think I'll bet on no response." He breathed out a ribbon of smoke, glaring at a passing woman just to see what response he'd get (answer: an icy stare back). The people here were just too boring to do anything. "Pity, really."

A vaguely shark-like grin on his face, he turned to Mello. "But then again, we won't know until they actually go off, eh? Bang bang shebang!"

So it was one day, long loong ago when two little pipsqueaks came into Paixao and decided they would blow up the city. What an original idea! Just like those many others, who have decided to have some 'fun' and blow up a portion of the city-- just a sidewalk or two. The next part of the story, he'd just make up himself, Xigbar thought as he opened up a black portal.

Lazily the black-hooded figure stepped in, reappearing in the alley of another street. One of them appeared to be smoking: clearly not grown in the best environment, smoking several years to early. The other was just... crazy. Xigbar wasn't in the brightest of spirits at the moment and his usual idea of entertainment wasn't the same.

"I think I'll bet on no response."
At this, the Nobody loudly have away his location with a laugh. Maybe Luxord would have found even more entertainment upon meeting these two boys. "You're a bit too young to be playing with fire aren't you?"

"BANG!" Immediately at these words, the sniper took out his weapon, shooting the timer.

Well. That was unexpected. But definitely interesting. Mello laughed, feeling a deep inner thrill, a rush of adrenaline that he hadn't felt in far too long. Oh yeah, this was how it felt to be alive. "I think you just lost that bet."

Not that shooting the timer wasn't likely to just make the whole thing blow early rather than stopping it, but he had to give this guy points for style. Mello stepped forward, in front of Matt, and drew his own gun. Shooting the timer was one thing, but he wasn't going to take chances on them being next. And he'd be damned if he'd let Matt die for him again. "Old enough to know better and still too young to care," he sneered in reply.

Okay, fine, so he'd lost the bet. But that wasn't really the main problem now. The bomb was now out of their hands - whether it would just blow the whole fountain to kingdom or fizzle out wasn't decided - and was no longer at the top of his list of priorities. This man was ( ... )

"Oh, plan on having a shootout, huh. I think you'll lose if we plan anything like that, boy." Without putting down his gunarrow, the figure pulled down his hood, revealing a wide grin stretched across a face with quite a number of scars. The next second, he reappeared opposite the direction the two boys were facing.

Well... the memories of the one with blonde hair were interesting, not to mentioned it tied in very closely to that of his current companion. Unlike anyone the sniper had met so far, there was a recent 'twist'.

"You too should care!" He started out in a mocking voice, which soon became more fixed, "I say both of you are old enough to know what death would be like-- especially, the death of a friend. If I shot the one of you, I'm sure the other wouldn't be too happy about it." Xigbar pretended to aim at the boy who had just sneered. If he went about this too fast... it wouldn't be half as entertaining in the long run.

With a swift movement, he instead shot at the other timer. Right on the mark.
