"How did...?" Raven turned around and looked at Kanda, surprised at his sudden arrival. She was already regretting not taking the time to sense anybody that could've been hidden, and this was the reason why. Well, there was nothing that could be done about him being there now...

"If you really need to know... Yes, it will. It'll let me go through the wall and take me outside." Starring at him for a moment, she could already tell where this was going.

"Listen Kanda, I don't know how you found me, and I'm sure you're capable of handling yourself out there." A guy like him wouldn't carry a sword around if he didn't know how to use it. "But what I told you before still stands." Raven recalled their brief exchange while using their journals. "I don't want anybody with me, that includes you. Got it?"

[OOC: That's fine! Oh, and thanks for letting me know what he was wearing... :x]

((OoC: Not really because it's important, but just as a tribute to Linali-mun. xD))

"I didn't ask if if you wanted anybody with you," Kanda replied, not faltering despite Raven's blatant refusal. The opinions of others were rarely factored into his decisions; it was more trouble than it was worth. Especially with somebody like Raven. "I asked if that thing would take you outside."

He took a few more steps towards her, clearly conveying that he didn't intend to turn around and go back to his hotel. But he'd need her to give some form of grudging consent, because Kanda wasn't stupid enough to barge through a foreign portal-like gate without knowing how it was made and how much Raven could control it.

"And since you've said it does, there's nothing more to argue about," he said. "I'm going outside, whether you want me to or not."

Not averting her eyes from Kanda's for a moment, Raven frowned at him. Stubborn would be an understatement, and he was obviously dead set on heading outside to investigate what was out there. If not through her portal, then through the nearby gate. And she didn't like the thought of that man telling Kanda to stop and him forcing his way through the guard and the others in the line.

Looking at him once more, Raven headed to her portal, stood next to it and crossed her arms. "Just walk through it and you'll be outside the domes."

That was all there was to it, really. She would've told him about the cold sensation he'd feel, but after giving him a show of what she could do a couple of days ago... there really was no need.

"Scream if you hear anything."

"I'll pass," Kanda said, snorting to himself. Did Raven honestly expect him to "scream if he heard anything?" Likely not, since the two of them had met before. But even if she did expect such, he wasn't going to indulge her in the slightest. Still, Kanda was fairly certain that she'd be able to cope with the loss ( ... )

Kanda's response was nothing less than what she expected for a guy like him. Oh well, she'd live.

Not wanting to let anybody else see them and tag along, Raven entered the portal and emerged on the other side shortly after. The grass was real, trees could be seen nearby, and the domes were no longer obstructing the view of the sky. They were outside alright, good.

Now came the part where they searched for something that could give them a clue about... anything that was going on. Something suspicious and out of place would work. Well, something besides the domes and the city inside it, that is.

Looking around a bit, Raven turned around and glanced at Kanda for a moment. "What'll you do now? The trees will make it hard to you to move quickly, and neither of us really knows where to begin looking, yet."

Kanda furrowed his brows, taking a look around. He could see Joutenheim from here, which made it a little easier. When he first arrived, he'd simply followed the river nearby until he'd located the gate. As far as he'd been able to tell, there wasn't very much in that direction. But if there was a river, it would have to join with another, larger river or empty into the ocean at some point ( ... )

There wasn't really any specific place Raven wanted to go to now that she was outside, just like it wouldn't make any difference which way she went until she could get a bird's eye view of the area. Until then however, she could afford to start out slow, seeing how it was still early in the day.

Raven didn't particularly care having Kanda with her, and the same could be said for her searching the area on her own. But as long as he was still there...

"Lead the way."

It was better to be safe than sorry. There was no telling who or what was waiting for them out in the wilderness.
