I vote that the scientists had something to do with the city-wide memory loss. Although, I do wonder how they were able to affect even those who have had their chip removed.

As for your unrelated question, it seems you can go approximately two weeks before they short-circuit or whatever and shock you. Some have been shocked in only a week, and some have been shocked after three or more weeks without using it.

The high school has been frighteningly loud, so if you're trying to study there, good luck. There's a library in the city which is... usually one of the most quiet places here.

[ooc: It wasn't obscenely long. You saw Kyon's last post, so if anyone should be apologizing it should be me. Also, I am apparently insane. :> I wanted to suggest a sort of open commentlog, so I don't think anyone would mind if you started one. :> I might join in later~]

I would believe that, except I know that those sorts of things have only been in existence for three years. Personally, I wish they didn't exist at all and that everyone was normal.

Even if I was naked and had no limbs, she would cling to my torso and never let me go.

[ooc: Pfft. You're not slow. You're way faster than I am. |D Although, I have food poisoning and am tired, so things I tag back with may not even make sense! ...Like Kyon's last line. It was waaay dirtier before I changed it.]

... For three years? That is very precise.

Little wonder you seem resigned to your fate, then. However, for those with no supernatural powers, that may be the safest option.

[OOC: FFfff. /patpat They do make sense! ... although now I want to know what the line was before.]

Mm. Back in my world, it seems like the most common phrase I hear is "Three years ago...."

I don't have any supernatural powers myself. But! It would be so cool if I did! I'm happy being a normal high school freshman... who... got transported into a post-apocalyptic city.

[ooc: Well, I am glad I'm being coherent! The other line was: "I could strip naked and she'd still find ways to grab me." ...And, my mind was in the gutter, so yeah. Very dirty. But I bet Haruhi WOULDN'T grab him there. :> So he'd be safe!]

What about three years ago?

... How optimistic of you.

Things changed. [Would tell him more, but Koizumi would smile frighteningly and say, "You shouldn't be telling people that kind of information.]

It's hard being optimistic when every time you try to run away you're found and dragged right back to the place you began!

I see. [doesn't press, as it's not terribly relevant] Quite vague, but the effects seem to be clear.

Equal and opposite reaction. Miss Suzumiya cannot be persuaded to run as well?

Haruhi doesn't deserve the honor of being addressed so formally! And, Haruhi likes it here. It's new and interesting and fun and... Gah!

Ah. You have tried to leave the city?

I'm not stupid enough to just leave it. If there are monsters inside the city, there's probably more outside the city. But if I can't leave the high school without Haruhi noticing, I doubt I'm going to leave the city without her grabbing me by the ear and dragging me back to the club room.

Some days, I'd rather take my chances with the monsters, though.

From personal experience, it is more than 'probably'. Perhaps this Haruhi of yours has the right idea. [half-seriously, really]

Mm? Have you tried to leave?

[And if so, did I just call him stupid?]

I have not; I arrived outside the city.

A-Ah? Really? How far away?

A fair ways into the forest. I do not recommend it.

Were you... able to get into the city safely without any problems?
